I'm not usually much for "stories with a lesson", particularly when the former seems to revolve entirely around the latter. But I admit to having been intrigued by Trudy Ludwig's "The Invisible Boy" (2013), and I was very pleasantly surprised. Having been a very introverted child, I found this gentle story of Brian, who feels like he just disappears into the background, very true to life. And I liked that the resolution to Brian's difficulties was gradual and not without its own challenges. And Patrice Barton's illustrations are heavenly...dreamy and detailed and lovely to look at. A good story if you've got a little one feeling down about their place in the social order. 💗 ⚫ ⚫ ⚫ #noodlenutskidsbooks #bookstagraminthe6ix #theinvisibleboy #invisibleboy #trudyludwig #patricebarton #introvert #introvertproblems #shyness #shy #introverted #schoolproblems #sociallyawkward #socialemotionaldevelopment #socialemotional #socialliteracy #socialskills #inclusion #inclusiveness #bullying #exclusion #socialexclusion #leftout #allalone #playingalone #wallflower #shykid #quietkid #kidsbooks #picturebooksofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/B2XcXiOn0v3/?igshid=nto1jjscqgds
