♤ - What is the best Halloween trick your muse has ever been a part of?

When Cecil was young, he and his friend Earl Harlan decided to play a prank on the people in their neighborhood.  You see, in Night Vale, there is a day every year called Dot Day, where you place red dots on things (and people) you love, and blue dots on those you do not love.  Or, as the locals always say, “Remember, red dots on what you love, blue dots on what you don’t. Mixing those up can cause permanent consequences.”

So, Earl and Cecil went around the neighborhood on Halloween with a large number of red dot stickers, placing them on all of the doors, their own included to avoid suspicion.  Only three houses had blue dot stickers placed upon their doors.

They had a laugh at the panic of their neighbors, wondering if they would be subject to the “permanent consequences” of being marked with the red dots, even if it was not Dot Day.  The neighbors even started pointing fingers as to who had done it.  Eventually, after a while, Cecil and Earl admitted to it.

As they were young, they avoided any major trouble with City Council and the Sherrif’s Secret Police, but they were both promptly disciplined at home.
