In an alternate universe Sasuke got his revolution and he is happy <3
Unsurprisingly, FISU is still making stupid Sasuke posts, so I’m gonna tackle what I could see. No way I’m exposing myself to the full original atm.
“Sasuke is made into an emotionally unavailable man”
Uh, what? Sasuke didn’t JUST suddenly become emotionally unavailable. This has been building up for years because NO ONE takes Sasuke’s emotions seriously and tells him he’s acting/feeling wrong and he should do something else, including YOU, OP. You are the exact kind of person who would damage a man so badly he no longer feels comfortable with sharing how he feels, and then you have the nerve to bitch about it as if it’s his fault.
“The wife has to do all the emotional labor and compromising on the relationship.”
You act as if she isn’t happy to do it. There is no ~labour~ going on here. Face it, suck up the fact Sakura’s happy in her marriage. Most anti SS people with two brain cells can admit that.
“Sakura isn’t even allowed to get a public goodbye kiss because ‘Sasuke’s not like that’.”
Wow, I wonder why the man chased and coerced into a marriage and a child isn’t comfortable with giving his wife a kiss.
“Sasuke’s a live wire.”
Sasuke’s literally the tamest he’s ever been in the series. If this is still too much of an apparent time bomb for you, that’s your problem.
“The whole choice to not get a replacement arm is selfish in the narrative.”
Sasuke makes one (1) choice about his own body and this still isn’t good enough to you. You just want him to be a bot. This is the only place and time where he can exercise his autonomy, and you want to rip it away from him.
“Sasuke should accept the prosthetic, it works fine for Naruto!”
And Sasuke fights better than Naruto without his left arm. Clearly he’s not in any real need of it. The only state that Naruto beats him at is raw chakra reserves.
“Sasuke only cared about the aesthetic of his atonement, instead of actually doing it, and that’s selfish.”
You’re so full of crap omfg. The lack of left arm is a permanent punishment and a reminder. The other countries accepted Sasuke’s atonement, suck it up.
[[ This is the superior version of this meme. ]]
❝Can you hear the silence? Can you see the dark? Can you fix the broken? Can you feel...can you feel my heart?
Can you help the hopeless? Well, I'm begging on my knees, Can you save my bastard soul? Will you wait for me?❞
Empty head full heart only Sasuke
ok boys here we go. These weren’t sent to me but I’m legally obligated to destroy them since I’m up at this ungodly hour. First of all--
Tobirama ghost wrote these asks.
Ok sasuke is nothing more than a whiny pretty boy bitch!
This alone cancels the whole thing but I’ll be nice and continue the rest.
He had everything ie: good grades,
Yeah man what is up with that! Good grades! Appearing out of thin air like that. It’s not like people work hard at their schooling and do their work and tests and earn those good grades, right???
a loving brother,
LOL. Ok, as an Itachi-stan I’m also obligated to handle this one because it’s just- dude have you EVER heard of context. You are ignoring literally EVERYTHING that happened with Itachi which is at least 3-400 chapters of content and reasoning behind Sasuke’s actions. Let’s just ignore how Sasuke felt neglected by both Itachi and his Father, because Itachi didn’t have time for him and Fugaku was focused on clan matters and Itachi’s job in the village VS Uchiha debacle. And then, you know, the fucking massacre? Where the brother figure he loved so much turned on him, and abused him horribly and violated his most sacred trust?
talent he didn't have to even work for,
I guess training himself to exhaustion every day (pre and post massacre) was for nothing :’( so sad
and came from a respected clan.
Bro you missed the quotations around respected because the Konoha government conspired to get them killed so Danzo could use their eyeballs.
But he still turned evil and let the curse of hatred consume him.
You misspelled *was abused by multiple people throughout his life to carry out their deeds while he tried to find a sense of purpose and justice that was his own.
Because he spent his whole childhood sulking in a corner about life being unfair,
Sometimes your whole family gets killed and you are forced to grow up on your own with your only purpose given in life avenging your family but that’s just the breaks i guess :/
he let the same curse his family had (which ended in their execution to get rid of their genetic evil) turn him evil and rejected all logic including that of his sensei.
““genetic evil”“ See, I said so. Tobirama ghost wrote these asks. Someone didn’t read the Itachi novels. Also Kakashi was a little bitch who was projecting his own failures as a child onto Sasuke and trying to fix himself through Sasuke.
People also compare Sasuke to Kakashi, because Kakashi "told him off" when he said his friends have already been killed. I can't stomach that scene anymore. Kakashi is so problematic yet people hail him as this ideal.
A good post on this matter is also Serena’s. I love it so much. I’ll plug it every chance I get because I love her and she’s spot on.
But yes, they also compare Sasuke to Kakashi. It’s literally another example of “I faced trauma, and I handled it THIS way, therefore I’m expecting you to handle it just like me, and you’re a bad person for not handling it exactly the same.” Both Kakashi and the fandom have this expectation and try to enforce it.
Kakashi faced traumatic events, yes. The suicide of his father at the village’s expectations of mission goals being prioritized over teammates. Obito’s death, and Rin’s death later. Minato’s death fighting the Kyuubi. Kakashi chose to handle it a specific way, and he holds no anger towards the village for getting his father killed. In face, he vilified his Father for it for a long time. Good for him, but fuck him for trying to force his expectations on Sasuke.
What Sasuke said was slightly out of line, sure. But it was to make a point. Sasuke didn’t know that Kakashi had seen a lot of people close to him die. He was trying to make a point, a “this is what happened to me, how would you feel about it?” And Kakashi shuts him down with “I’ve already lost people.” Yet their terms of loss aren’t the same. Sasuke had his whole family systematically murdered, and when we take Itachi’s novel into account, the situation gets even worse.
In Itachi Shinden, a newly minted Anbu Itachi gets led around by Kakashi into the surveillance room for the Uchiha District. Kakashi is acutely aware that the Uchiha are being targeted, and sure, he tells one of the very discriminatory anbu to watch what he says infront of Itachi, but that’s it. Nothing else.
So Kakashi, who knew the Uchiha were targeted and surveyed without their knowledge, and who IS smart enough to piece that an order was given to kill eventually, is expecting Sasuke to just get over it.
But let’s go over things mentioned in the manga, just to be sure, because one can make the argument “well the novels came last/were written by someone else”, but that doesn’t make the situation any better.
When Team 7 first meets Kakashi, Sasuke is very open that he wants to kill Itachi. He doesn’t say Itachi’s name verbally, but it’s inferred. Remember, Kakashi is an ex-ANBU. Sasuke is the last remaining Uchiha besides Itachi, and Itachi is an S-rank missing nin responsible for said clan’s murder. Just because the audience doesn’t currently know, doesn’t mean Kakashi knows. He doesn’t. So, Sasuke has been clear his goal is to get strong enough to kill Itachi and attain his revenge from the very beginning.
The tree scene? Is Kakashi telling Sasuke he won’t train him if his goal is Itachi. Which....what the fuck, Kakashi? You KNEW that was his goal from the start. Yet now it’s apparently a problem and you won’t support it. Why are you surprised he left the village? Sasuke used to trust Kakashi, he was at the point he could visit the man’s home unannounced. And Kakashi completely turns on him because he’s projected himself so much into Sasuke he can’t comprehend why Sasuke isn’t handling it like he would. He makes no effort to understand things from Sasuke’s perspective.

Yo, I hear you are aggressively pro-Sasuke, I am too, and I wonder what you feel about people calling him "dramatic emo" or a "spoiled brat", and if you don't feel up to answering, that's ok, and if you know any people/posts that talk about this? Thank you (New to the Naruto fandom)
I really, really hate it when people call him a spoiled brat, or “emo”, or selfish, or any variation of such. I especially hate it’s become so commonplace that people don’t THINK before calling Sasuke that. Like, it’s so awfully ingrained in the fandom culture of Naruto to call Sasuke selfish/emo/entitled/spoilt/dramatic.
It’s like they don’t want to think twice about Sasuke’s circumstances. He didn’t come from a rich family, he didn’t get everything he wanted as a child, he was TRAUMATIZED and orphaned at seven years old and left to fend for himself. Sure, he wasn’t alone since birth like Naruto. But he still had to learn to take care of himself because no one else did.
You KNOW they get “dramatic emo” from the fact he’s traumatized and the fact he can’t shrug it off. Everyone reacts different to trauma. But Naruto is ~*~sunshine~*~ boy over here, who can shrug his off with a smile (which is a farce, anyways, Naruto has tons of barely restrained anger and struggles with trying to overcome it, despite the anger being completely justified. Did we all forget the Dark Naruto arc.) Sasuke’s attitude is perfectly understandable if you, you know, just look at him. You don’t even need to look deeply. He was orphaned, tortured in his mind, left by himself and was told to survive and grow strong he’d have to isolate himself, and that for an Uchiha he was apparently sorry enough his brother didn’t feel like killing him. Do you know what that does to a person??? So he gets clingly about the Uchiha name and gets a superiority complex, that’s perfectly reasonable. Are they good coping methods? No, but what to you expect in a village that blames the victims for mental illness. Sasuke’s not like he is randomly, there’s a reason behind all of his behavior.
Almost every reason to try to call Sasuke emo or spoilt comes from comparing his behavior to Naruto’s. Naruto is the “ideal” here, Naruto faced x and y things and he came out “fine”, why can’t Sasuke? Half the time I want to know what these people would say to an actual child whose family had been murdered. How they would downplay that child’s justified anger and isolation. Comparing Naruto and Sasuke’s trauma as to “who handled it better” and “what should a traumatized person act like ideally” is fucking stupid. Their situations are entirely different, and even if they were exactly the same, not everyone handles trauma the same.
All of Sasuke’s behavior makes sense considering what he’s gone through, and how many people have used him to further their own ends (INCLUDING Naruto.) People just really hate it when a victim lashes out against the people who hurt them. They’d rather a victim take it quietly, or refuse to fight back. Even Itachi is lauded as handling it better than Sasuke based purely on the fact Itachi didn’t want to fight back. Naruto specifically is lauded for never fighting back against those who hurt him inside the village.
