ALICE PATTULLO: THE OFFCUTS PROJECT earlier this year @theprintblock ran an inspired project called @theoffcutsproject to raise money for @trusselltrust (which runs food banks) whereby small prints by a range of artists were printed in small editions of 14. I kept missing out by being too slow as they were all quickly snapped up, but I managed to buy these by @alicepattullo - which will hopefully adorn my kitchen once I get around to framing them. These ladies are composed of the foodstuffs they sell, a nice connection to the purpose of the Trussel Trust, and they are inspired by the grotesque costumes of the French engraver Nicholas de Larmessin II (1634-1694) - see last three pics. I’m always interested in how artists can be inspired by others to create playful homages that are still completely their own imagery, as these ladies are. #alicepattullo #illustration #larmessin #nicolasdelarmessin #trusseltrust #printmaking (at Brighton and Hove) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFmHBH-FkYt/?igshid=1xfdwg057gerh
