“The organic industry’s continued growth domestically and globally shows that consumers trust the current approach that balances consumer expectations and the needs of organic producers and handlers.” What does the above statement mean? That the general population is content with the extremely limited protections of farm animals because the industry has somehow convinced them that current regulations mean animals do not suffer. The “needs” of producers and handlers is to make as much money as possible while keeping the public off their backs. Yes, the government makes and upholds laws, but it is up to us as citizens to demand better. Animal products labeled “humane” are not. Baby male chicks are still ground alive in the egg industry. Baby cows and goats are still killed as infants so people can drink the “humane” milk meant for them. Animals are still killed (at a tiny fraction of their natural lifespans) who desperately want to live. Do not be fooled by local, organic “producers” who claim to love their animals. They betray and kill them in the end. For profit. Period. That is not love. We must demand better. Eat plants and put these cruel industries out of business. #truthsucks #wehavetobebetter #loveoneanother #dohardthings #ethics #careaboutothers #dontkeepyourheadinthesand #animalrightsactivist #animalrights #eatplants #govegan https://www.instagram.com/p/B4ppjVmnwcP/?igshid=zf2zzz0z6rcn
