Read IDW TMNT!
Genuinely compelling stories, fun and unique art, good characters, a really entertaining read! i went into it without knowing anything about tmnt lore and i loved it. If anyone wanted to get into the IDW TMNT series, the first 9 (complete) Volumes are available for free here:
https://readcomiconline.to/Comic/Teenage-Mutant-Ninja-Turtles-The-IDW-Collection
And after that, Hoopla (all you need for full access is a library card) has Volume 10, and issues from the main storyline that follow (as of march 24 2020)!
why you should be a programmer
being a computer science major is so weird. I guess I don’t know anyone who’s doing it without being passionate about it so my view is skewed, but none of us are up all night studying or stressing. Computers are fun, I can work on code for 4 hours and feel like it’s been 15 min. I’ve never been stressed about it, it’s more of a passionate frustration. my friends who are biology or nursing or business majors are always snapchatting me pics of ten books and packets and pages upon pages of notes at 3 am, while I’m like “I wanted to finish this assignment but I have to wait until next class, I wish the prof would post more notes or lessons online”
seriously, if you don’t know what you want to do yet, look into programming. Open the html page of your tumblr and just mess with it, if you figure anything out by yourself then SERIOUSLY CONSIDER PROGRAMMING. you can make a lot of money too (sadly I can say ESPECIALLY if you’re a girl. not fair but true.), and you will enjoy it. try learning some java by yourself or python, there are a ton of books like “learn python in 24 hours” or “java for dummies” at barnes and noble or whatever, just pick one up and read through what you understand of it and in a few days you’ll understand enough to give it a try.
everyone is always telling me how I must be super smart and good at math to be a programmer but for real, it sounds WAY more intimidating than it is. Just try it. even a little. You’ll see what I mean.
Oh especially if you’re a musician. If you can read music, you can learn to code.
