goretober 2024 day one - ROTTING.
Can anybody help me identify this mysterious item I found at the antique market? It's definitely made of some kind of bone, and it's about 3 inches long. My thought is that it might be some sort of fish scale?
A quick update on the lichens from yesterday: trying again, I got an identification of the ones with the little cup-structures as "Rosette Lichens, Frost Lichens, and Allies" (which is a charming way to put it) from iNaturalist. The closest type seems to be Star rosette lichen, which is very very common, so this might well be it. I've included one photo with my fingers to show the scale of these (very tiny). And the last pic is another of some shield lichen; interestingly two-toned.

Submission from Hex: From Southern Thrift in Nashville, TN. The fancy fish is my personal fave, but the dress inspired by Fruity Pebbles certainly has a lot going on, too.
