I've been getting this bug since mid april where the thumbnails will randomly stop loading in my game and the sims will no longer change outfits and become invisible to the point that I cannot even click on them. I also cannot save or load a different household when this happens. have any of you experienced this?
I've updated all my mods, tried the 50/50 method and I'm still unable to find the cause and I've been dealing with this since april and it's making my game unplayable 😭😭😭
Before this method, my game took ~1 hour to load. After? It takes less than 5 minutes!
The short explanation is to turn off the show at startup feature for your mods and custom content. If you don’t know how to do that, though, here is a tutorial!
There are two methods to turn off this feature, number one being the most simple.
1) When your game first opens, the way to know if you have mods set to show at startup is if this window (below) pops up. One way to turn off this feature is unchecking the checkbox in the bottom left-hand corner. The next time you open your game, it should load much faster!
If you don’t want to wait for your game to open with the usual time, remove all your mods and custom content, excluding at least one file. That way your game will open quickly for you turn off the feature, and then you can reopen your game with all your mods!

2) If your game is already open, here is how to turn off the show at startup feature from within the game.
First, you need to navigate to the menu. Click on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the game (shown below).
It will open the game menu, where you need to select “Game Options.”
Then, select “Other” from the sidebar on the left.
From this menu you need to select “View Custom Content.”
This will open the mods list window, where you need to uncheck the checkbox in the bottom left-hand corner. This should make your game load faster!

Can anyone point me to what mod(s) would cause terrain paint to show up different than what’s selected? Like for example, I went to use a terrain paint with flowers but it shows up as gravel/dirt when I use it? What could be causing this issue?
Tbh even though I've had The Sims 4 since Christmas, I've still mostly been playing TS3. I just haven't really found a good way to spice up the gaming experience for TS4. Anyone know any good base game compatible mods/CC that would make the experience better? Or possibly any legacies or challenges that I could try out that would make it more fun to play?
