My son.  He has an amazing imagination, it never stops and he’s always adding to it with everything he sees.   He’s the absolute silliest and willing to jump in on any joke as long as it doesn’t interrupt him telling a story.  He’s a royal pain in the ass to be honest, but he’s so worth it and he’s going to grow into someone big who is amazing as he is small.

How long have you been using tumblr? What do you like about it and what do you not like about it? How often do you check tumblr? How many people offline have you met from tumblr? tumblr. :-)

I’ve been on Tumblr since about 2009 I think.

I love the way tumblr evolved into millions of pockets of tight knit communities. Like whatever weird thing you’re into that you thought made you a freakazoid, you can jump on Tumblr and instantly find like minded folks. It’s been nice finding and following and interacting with ppl that either seemed like we shared a brain (@soulsistrin), are totally different and foreign to me in a fascinating way (@tsaphanbabe @mandy-queenofsquats @red-oman @dogwithsharperteeth) or just are plain awesome in ways that need no explanation (@ropeandcoffee @therealwolfqueen).

Also, Tumblr is the one place online that I actually just allow myself to be a real human being, since most of my other social media accounts are primarily for professional/work stuff and self promotion (FB, Twitter, Youtube, etc). Tumblr is my safe place to be random, vent, laugh, cry, learn and even be silly or sexy if the mood strikes. I’ve been fortunate to be followed by and interact with good ppl who are great to bounce ideas off of, learn from, etc., in a non-judgemental space that I don’t think exists anywhere else online. So that’s awesome for me too.

I check Tumblr alottt. I’ve set notifications for my fave ppl and that list keeps growing quickly lol. So there’s almost always something new to catch up on. Of course sometimes i’ll be focused on work and other things and not be on tumblr as much for a few days, but then I go on a Tumblr binge to catch up lol.

Hmmm, interestingly I’ve never made it a priority to meet anyone offline that I met on Tumblr first. I do have some mutuals on here that I knew IRL first of course. But I can’t think of anyone I met on here and then actually met up with IRL.

There are a select few people I’d love to meet IRL though. You all know yourselves i’m sure lol.

5. If you were a type of tree, what would you be?

Hmmm I guess I'd want to be a palm (coconut) tree on the beach. Pretty much guarantees i'd be there more or less forever, cause what reason is there to cut down a palm tree right next to the beach? Lol. I'd get to experience the world evolving eternally, which sounds awesome. Also the beach is one of my genuine happy places. I love the sound of the waves. Sooo win/win! 👍🏾👍🏾

14. What is your current desktop picture?

My current desktop pic on my laptop is actually one of the stock pattern pics that come with the Macbook Pro lol. I just happen to like it lately. My iPad wallpaper pic (and lockscreen) is currently the Daredevil Season 2 (Netflix series) poste, and my phone wallpaper (and lockscreen) is a closeup pic of me in my formal suit holding my Songwriter Of The Year award right after I won and received it a couple years ago.

Sst ask, kinda: you just mentioned that you are sapiosexual. What does this mean for you? When did you begin identifying in this way? Why?

The commonly accepted meaning of sapiosexual as listed in the Urban Dictionary is “One who finds intelligence the most sexually attractive feature”… I’ve seen other online definitions listing it as some minor variation of “a strong attraction to intelligence in others, often regardless of gender and/or conventional attractiveness”.

In my case I’m probably closer to sapio-romantic to be honest, because I can be physically attracted to someone who’s not my idea of intelligent/intellectual, but it’s pretty much impossible for me to have a meaningful or long lasting attraction to or relationship with such a person.

AND the initial physical attraction can immediately fizzle out if the person says or does something that grieviously irks my logical or intellectual sensibilities. (Not just a little irk though, it’d have to something huge.)

Lol. I guess basically I’m attracted more strongly to women I can engage in intellectual discourse with, or whose mind process is on par with mine or so above mine that it wows me.

Also related point: I’m discovering that as I get older the part of me that i’ve labelled sapiosexual gets more dominant. Which makes finding partners trickier…

I’ve always been more attracted to people’s personality over their physical form. Which is probably why if you lined my exes up they’d look like an old school Colors Of Benneton advertisement, or a Women’s Diversity poster. Various races and many multi-racial women, older and younger than me when we were involved, petite, plus sized, amazon (as in taller than me), from various different social and economic backgrounds than my own, and from various countries other than my own… The only common thread being that their individual minds turned me on (in almost every case).

I didn’t realise that this was unusual until probably my late twenties or early thirties when my “friends” at the time (now ex friends) made fun of my choices in partners, laughing saying things like “you like/date HER? But she’s so (dark skinned, light skinned, ugly, short, big/fat, ghetto, etc)

1. Music. (I mean this in the way of passive listening and appreciation. When you get to #2 this distinction will make much more sense.)

2. Creating. (My main medium for creating in my adult life has been music whether it’s singing, songwriting, producing or even orchestrating the careers of other musical artists’ behind the scenes. Over the course of my lifetime i’ve also been an entertainment journalist, award-winning poet, prize winning short story writer, written the treatment for my own superhero comic at one point… I’m sure you get the gist by now. All of these incarnations make me happy. Tbh though, i’m happiest when creating something, anything.)
