Based on Narcissus (Caravaggio) 1597-1599.
Was listening to Gethsemane a lot during this, and throughout, thought about how it could apply to him, especially considering all the kinds of dynamics he holds to himself, from creator and creation which can extend to God and man. The illustration above is left for interpretation however.
The designs expand... I will take to drawing Enfield next, then a million scenes from the novella. I have genuinely considered adapting the entire work, as it stands on its own, into a webcomic.
This fanfiction shit is easy
jekyll and hyde art for a game dev assignment
I have spent some time analysing Jekyll’s speech patterns to see if there is anything curious and noticed a couple things (ignore my chipped nails)
1: He LOVES repeating things. Double, even triple repetitions everywhere to ensure his opinion and viewpoint
2: A lot of black and white morality. Good, good good good is everywhere. He repeats good so much that it becomes an empty word.
3: rapid switches in mood. “He’s a good fellow, an excellent fellow, but a pendant, an ignorant blatant pendant.” He’s goes from praising Lanyon to criticising him in the same sentence.
4. Linking onto nr. 3 and 2. Exagrerrations. A lot of them. Utterson is drowning in his flattery. Manipulative Jekyll is very much real (my apologies)
so yea, I did that to be able to compare his speech to that of Hyde, but in fact Hyde speaks so little, we can’t see any similarities at all. The only thing I could pick up would be short and snappy sentences.
Thinking about Utterson going to the crime scene and finding the cane he gifted Jekyll broken in half during one of the most gruesome murders London had seen... thinking about Jekyll realizing he broke the symbol of his relationship with his best friend because he couldn't keep himself in check... ohhhh kill me now....
Art doesn't have to be clever or subtle, you know
im going to lose my shit why does everyone make him skinny
