As a worldbuilder one thing big thing I occasionally decide to take part in is protolanguages and conlangs. Worldbuilding a language can be quite difficult. One thing that has helped me tremendously is a select few channels, communities, and resources.

Oh my goodness I just found out about this cool conlang called Tsevhu made by a reddit user called Koallary and it has the most gorgeous writing syatem called Koiwrit and it's literally made of koi fish and ripples and why can't all languages be like this just look at it!!!! That is a sentence!!!!

At a family event recently the topic of linguistics came up as it so often does when someone remembers my major and that they have a burning question. It led to my...step-dad's step-nibling? My cousin mentioning that they've been working on some fish translations in their free time. Without missing a beat I excitedly asked, "Oh, Tsevhu?" They were flabbergasted. "You know it???"

I had to explain I'm something of a scientist myself when it comes to keeping apprised on most things conlang.

this is a non-linear script developed by koallary! i used english phonetics, but it's intended for use with thier conlang tsevhu.

each ripple is a word, with phonemes expanding outward. the placement of the ripples on the koi indicate thier role in the sentence, the direction the koi faces indicates tense, and the angle of the tail indicates tone!
