I’ve had this au for a while where ch!3’s motive is different. Mostly for psychological torture and shipping reasons. Instead of the temperature going down, each student gets an injection. Six of them are normal and harmless. The other six have a virus known as a love bug. In the span of five days, those injected with a love bug will experience increasingly painful headaches and stomach sickness without any way to treat it. Not only that, they will develop a mental sickness where they will develop a want to hurt and kill those they care about. It’s especially strong with those they are romantically attracted to. By day five their mind will be completely taken over by the idea to kill their loved ones and they will be in so much pain it hurts to walk. The only way to rectify the pain is if they kill the one they love. After a body has been discovered, an antidote would be reinstated shortly after and they’d return to normal.
That’s not even the worse part. The worst part by the tenth day of the injection, the six with the love bug will undergo a composted state and be unable to move or function properly without monitorization.
I find this au so fun because I find think about what’s worse, being effected by the love bug or not. Because if you are, you’re essentially trapped in your own body without a way to escape and have to watch as you try and murder Someone you care about. And if it goes past day 10 then you are essentially no longer control at all and are just forced for watch life go past you. And if you aren’t infected, you’re forced to watch your loved one suffer with the knowledge that the only way to help them is by your death…or someone else’s
