I Think You’re Beautiful (Tsumukuro)

Some cute Mikan x Mukuro. This rarepair is so cute hehe

This is gonna be an AU where Mukuro survives THH but Junko doesn’t,,,,,,,,, it doesn’t matter how but either way all the students are living in dorms recovering together wahooooooooooooooo cool cool enjoy :)

Mukuro sat quietly, drinking tea and unwinding after her last session with the counselor who worked with some of the other students living in the dorms. To be truthful, she loved seeing everyone working to get better and all of the support they gave each other. Sure there were some situations here and there between others, but overall no one really had trouble with each other. She was happy to be here.

It was a knock on her door that took her from these thoughts, standing to open it. The knock was quiet and timid, which made sense once she opened the door. 

The purple haired nurse stood with her head down, twiddling her fingers nervously. 

“Oh, hi Mikan. What’s up?” The soldier asked, slightly concerned with her nervousness. 

Ever since the incident with turning her class to despair, Mukuro had a soft spot for them. She had a lot of regrets when it came to following Junko, and she never really knew how to express it. The only way she could was to show small aspects of care towards them, trying to prove she wasn’t as bad as Junko made her feel.

Mikan was a special case, seeing her fall for Junko so hard only to be used and hurt, it made her heart wrench. She was one of the cases she saw the closest, which probably played a big part in why she felt somewhat protective of the girl. She wanted to prove she wasn’t bad to Mikan as well.

“S-Sorry to bother you!” She squealed. “I j-just was wondering if I could ask for your help with something? You don’t have to, b-but-”

The black haired girl raised a hand and smiled down at her. “You’re okay, Mikan. I’m always open to help you.”

The nurse’s face went bright pink and she continued. “Well I... I’ve been thinking that I really don’t like my hair... It just reminds me of th-the past and it looks really... bad. I was wondering if you could help me shave it off?”

Mukuro perked up, heart filling with joy. “O-Oh! Of course! Right now?”

The shorter girl nodded and Mukuro gestured for her to come inside. “I have some clippers in my bathroom from my... more intense soldier days. Y’know I used to have a buzzcut.”

Mikan let out a small ‘ooo’, looking around with wonder at all of the things Mukuro had laying around. Uniforms, boots, bandages, the works. 

The soldier led her into the bathroom and set up a chair, pulling out the clippers and other supplies. Any other girl would try to talk Mikan out of it, but she had nothing but support. She obviously knew what she wanted, and Mukuro was going to give her that.

Mikan sat down with an excited look on her face. Mukuro held up a few of the guards. “How short?”

The nurse pointed at one of the bigger ones (that would leave her with a solid inch of hair) and the other put it on, plugging it in and standing behind the girl. “Ready?”

Mikan nodded enthusiastically, and the buzzing started. Her face beamed as the locks began to fall, drowning Mukuro’s floor in a sea of burgundy. The joy on her face left butterflies in the soldier’s stomach.

After a moment of touching up and making sure it was even, Mukuro turned off the clippers and was greeted with a squeal of happiness. Mikan waved her hands excitedly and ran them through her new hair. It was fuzzy and pleasant, and the fresh start she really wanted.

A wide grin grew over Mukuro’s face at the sight. She was so happy to have helped Mikan like this. Not to mention how good it looked on her. She looked.. breathtaking.

She had to stop herself from staring, mouth hanging open in thought. She hesitated, but took a breath. “You look so good, Mikan.”

The black haired girl was taken aback, quite literally, when Mikan threw herself onto her, hugging her tightly. “Thank you so much, Mukuro!”

She slowly wrapped her arms around the shorter girl after raising them in shock. She was so soft and looked so pretty and god she wanted nothing but to protect her and see her this happy all the time. 

Mikan pulled away, smiling. Mukuro’s face was a deep crimson. “You’re welcome, Mikan... U-Uh, I..”

The nurse tilted her head, somehow looking cuter than before.

“You do like girls, right?” She blurted out before covering her mouth in shock. I mean yes she did, she was in love with Junko. It was a stupid question.

Mikan’s face turned twice as red. “M-Mhm!” She squeaked, twiddling her fingers and looking down at the floor.

“You’re just so pretty, and cute, and... C-Could we go out sometime? Like on a date?” She stammered.

Mikan jumped a bit, lip quivering. Then she was nodding frantically, eyes shut tight. “Y-Yes! That’d be really nice!”

Mukuro sighed out with relief. “C-Cool.”

Mikan shakily stepped forward and pressed her lips against Mukuro’s cheek, scampering out of her dorm like a mouse, without even offering to help clean up all the hair. She would feel bad and come back later, not that Mukuro minded. She just stood in the bathroom, locking eyes with herself in the mirror, a woozy grin covering her face.

Not sure if for my ancient ask meme from before my hibernation but this is a cute pair so...

What they first thought of each other: Mukuro was a bit concerned about Mikan, both because of her behavior and because she knows from her time in Fenrir that the best medics are always a bit weird. Mikan first met Mukuro for real when she was watching a bunch of the athletic people work out and spar and stuff (just in case someone gets hurt), so when seeing Muku being badass it was equal parts instant thirst and being more than a bit intimidated 

When they realized they like the other: Mikan was head over heels pretty quick, about the first time Muku saved her from a fall, hard not to fall for her like that, only realized it after seeing Muku being very sad and insecure about her freckles and suppressed the urge to kiss her freckles to make her feel better. Muku took a tiny bit longer, falling for her by the tenth or so time saving Mikan as they started to hang out a lot more, and at about the hundredth she realized A) Mikan was cute as fuck, B) She liked holding Mikan, C) This seemed to happen a lot, and D) She didn’t mind that one bit

How they got together: With lots of help, both classes needed to move heaven and earth to get them together, eventually setting them up for a group hang out where no one else showed up with plenty of romantic atmosphere and Mikan got so cute and nervous that Muku couldn’t hold back and kissed her,and everything just came out, super cute and awkward and genuine 

First Date and how it went: After the above, they decided on a simple walk in the park as a date, without friend interference this time, though a few still decided to follow them, it was awkward as hell but cute, Mikan being extra clumsy both on purpose and genuinely, Mukuro trying to figure out what she should/could do, eventually settling on some sinful hand holding 

Who initiates contact most: If saving her gf from clumsiness counts, Muku, if not, Mikan, she’s more needy for affection and Muku doesn’t mind one bit. 

Best/Weirdest gifts for each: Well, there’s the time that, on Junko’s advice, Mikan got a pair of handcuffs for Muku to and I quote, ‘use as she pleases’ they may or may not have gotten use out of them

Favorite couple activity: Cuddles, they’re both pretty desperate for affection so it’s heaven for both, also Muku’s workout, sometimes tries to toughen up Mikan too but she has no problems watching her badass gf get all hot and sweaty

What the others thought of them: Adorable dorks, everyone saw it long before either, doesn’t help how damn thirsty Mikan was

How often they kiss Muku’s freckles: Often, Mikan loves to love on her gf, especially when Muku gets insecure

Vague night activities description (maybe): ...tough soldier girl and submissive nurse, practically writes itself 

Other: Mikan be thirsty
