((THIS BECAME WAY LONGER THAN I THOUGHT. IMSOSORRY.))
It wasn’t often Aki could be found loitering around Dalaran,Silvermoon or any place for that matter where there happened to be an abundanceof other bodies roaming around, but it seemed as though today would be anexception.
Sitting upon the top rail of one of the wooden pieces offencing at the end of the Walk of Elders, Aki had been enjoying his quiet timeto himself as he freshened up his people watching skills. Like anything when itcame to the monk though, it didn’t seem as if it was meant to last.
Setting his sights on one female in particular who seemed tobe heading in his direction, Aki could already feel the corners of his mouthcurling in slight displeasure as his ears fell back against matted platinumblonde locks.
Aki couldn’t even begin to guess as to what this womanwanted with him, but taking her pensive stride into account as she the distancebetween them, it didn’t seem as if it was going to result in anythingfavorable.
Slow to trace his tongue along in backs of his teeth beneathshrouded features in preparation verbally lash back at the woman the moment shedecided to open her mouth, the words soon filtering into his ears has Akichoking for a brief second on his now garbled speech.
After doing his best to stifle the grotesque sound emittingfrom his throat, Aki’s brows are left to dip in clear puzzlement.
“What?”
“What would you like to call your significant other?”
So he had heard it right. He heard and understood what wasbeing asked, but he had no idea as to -why- he was being asked such a questionwithout any context. It wasn’t as if the monk hadn’t been interviewed before, but he believed this to be an oddly personally question even for something likethat. Then again, what did he know?
Deciding it wouldn’t hurt to play along, Aki hummed a fewnotes while he pondered over how to best respond. “What would I like to callhim..? I… honestly have not thought of calling him anything aside from his nameor simply referring to him as my partner. I do not believe he minds beingcalled either of those things as he has never stated as such, but there isnothing else I really call him. Perhaps I should think on that more often, though, as he seems to have found a few things he seems to enjoy calling me.”
Pleased with his answer for once, Aki offered a parting nodtoward his curious new friend. Or, so he thought he’d be leaving after that butyet again he seemed to be wrong. Barely allowing her to finish the first partof her next question, Aki’s ears are once again wilting back in a defensivemanner before words are rolling off his tongue in a curt tone. “I cannot swimand I do not plan on learning how to any time soon.”
Straight to the point as ever and making a note to possiblyoffer some form of apology later to whoever this woman was given she lookedjust as surprised as he was by his last response, thankfully the next one wasfar more light-hearted.
“That entirely depends on which category heavily charred androck-solid pieces of cuisine fall under. In terms of which I prefer… I enjoyeating the goods bakers tend to make. That being said, I enjoy most all formsof food.”
And then all once Aki’s world is once more crashing down. Why was it that everyone he encountered always had to bring up a questionregarding question. Did he have any? Did he like them? Did he want them? Theynever bloody well ceased and each and every time they managed to through Akiinto a downward spiral. If only they knew.
Parting with a heavy sign from his lungs as his ears tucked theirway beneath a few strands of hair, Aki averted his gaze away from his interrogatorbefore daring to answer. “I would tell him I am sorry for not trying to do morefor him. I would apologize to him for not being able to be there in his time ofneed as a father should be. That even to this day not a moment goes by where Iam not missing him and that I hope he is still saving a spot for me in the nextlife.”
Deflating on the spot, Aki was rapidly approaching the pointof being completely done with the questionnaire. Sun help them all though, asthere seemed to be yet another question that continued to hit all the wrongbuttons when it came to the monk.
“I wish they would have told me they were proud of me andthe things I had done as a child even if I paled in comparison to my siblings.Simply being recognized as something more than an extra mouth to feed wouldhave been nice. I also wish they would have apologized for what they said thatday.”
With his mood having been thoroughly dampened with newfoundguilt and generally unpleasant emotions, Aki wasn’t going to give the woman anymore chances to pick away at his mind. He felt the answers he had given weremore than enough, and if she had a problem with it? He didn’t give a damn as hepushed himself free from the fence and roughly shoved his way past her.
Sun help him, he hated those of the opposite gender.
((I spent so long trying to figure out how I wanted to answer these, and it seems to have turned into a wall. Sorry! ANYWAY, now for the OOC ask.))
Windflower: list 5 of your favorite blogs and explain why i like them.
I honestly like every blog I follow. I mean, I wouldn’t be following them if I didn’t after all! However, in terms of my favourite blogs, those would have to be the ones owned by those I interact the most with. That isn’t to say I don’t appreciate all those who interact with me and are interested in my characters, because I <3 all you guys.
@hamathiel-sunsheer - Why? Grumpy elves, first of all. Not going to lie and I’ve told you this a few times, but I mean it. You intimidated me to no ends the first time you asked me to RP. I was so nervous to have someone ask me to RP, let alone someone who writes as well as you do. I’m glad you turned out to not be as spooky as I thought xD! I love reading your posts about the dorks and your interpretations/side of their interactions. Your writing is simply amazing and beautiful and you are honestly one of the best RP partners I’ve had over the years and one of the best friends i’ve ever had <3. I love seeing the aesthetics you find for your characters (yes I’ve stalked your priests blog a few times) and the contrast between all the things for Hamathiel makes me laugh. One minute it’s all dark and spooky and the next thing I see is he’s making some fluffy and ridiculous omelette thing in the shape of a bird/rabbit. And sushi koi fish. Please xD Anyhow, you inspire me on a daily basis and each and every time we RP to do better and to keep writing.
@kelzthalassunwhisper - YOU KNEW YOU’D BE ON HERE, YOOUU. I love how much you post on your blog, whether it fits with your characters or just how random and completely out there it is. I love reading about your dragons as you do a grand job at writing for all them. I am so happy you threw those random Anon’s at me all those months back as you become one of my closest friends in that time. I love seeing at the random posts, photos, videos, anime references– EVERYTHING you manage to tag me it. Seeing and talking with you brightens my day, you nub. You’ve also helped me to become far more comfortable with openly derping around and just being myself <3
@hippocratic-malediction - I know we haven’t exactly talked. At all. Ever. Aside from random comments back and forth sometimes, but my gods I cannot express how much I enjoy and how happy I am to find another person playing a medic character. A competent medic who actually takes the time to, go through the steps, takes care to assess the situation and how to best handle it and understands that while, yes, magical healing is a thing, that not all injuries or problems can be fixed with a flick of ones wrist. Seeing people fixing bones and the more severe injuries in a matter of seconds, only to see the once injured character back on the field ten minutes later with no repercussions or any hindrance on their abilities is a huge pet peeve of mine. Rarely do I ever see a healer character doing anything aside from flinging magic around, so to be able to read your excellent writing and about your character? I’m truly happy I stumbled upon your blog. I hope we can maybe plot someday!
@zookeeper-cielya - Yet another person I haven’t really got a chance to talk with too much, but you have been sending me asks for a long while now and I’m so sorry I still haven’t answered some from gods know many months back. I’m terrible at keeping up with tumblr. Either way, I love you blog and everything you do on it. I love sitting down to read through all the posts you do about the different animals and how much detail and actual research you put into them, and how you make references to the actual animal/at least try to find something that resembles the creature IRL. They are truly amazing and fun to read and I need to catch up on reading all these newer ones. They are extremely useful as well when it comes to RPing and I know a friend of mine who lacks a tumblr enjoys reading them to, as they play a hunter :P You are also extremely kind! You didn’t have to do that drawing of Aki, but the fact you took the time to do that even despite the fact we haven’t really ever spoken? I was blown away when I saw it. I love it, so thank you! I also hope I’ll get the chance to RP more with you.
@jackarychaoti - This nerd. We don’t tend to interact too much on tumblr these days, but I can say I laugh every time I get a random Bnet message from you with the sad face saying I ran over you xD However, I do enjoy reading about Jack and his adventures. Becuase gdi <3 the plump little Noodle and his friends. He’s adorable. We also. Need to. RP. You nerd. All those talks about having Aki and Jack raiding a bakery need to happen! More importantly, though, you art is stunning. I’m fairly certain I have stalked your blogs one too many times scrolling through to find and look at all the pieces you’ve done. Seeing your art has been a huge inspiration and a big part of what got me starting to draw again/actually trying to do more digital pieces (even if I can’t use a tablet to save my life). Not to mention all the advice and tips you’ve given me recently.
@hippocratic-malediction thank you for the asks <3
It was the first time she had kept family and friends in the same room together for a social gathering and the first time that her family interacted perfectly with her chosen company. Nothing made her happier -- well, a few things but in that moment she had been beaming from ear to ear regardless of how nervous she had been. Hours prior she had been thinking of how maybe the sandwiches might have been good enough even though everyone adored Silvia’s sandwiches or if perhaps the cream along the cupcakes and cakes wasn’t sweet enough. Were the petite pies a decent make with summer fruit and were the variety of teas too pungent or some a little more fruit than expected?
It didn’t matter.
The trio ate and drank their fill while conversing for a couple of hours before they separated for the evening. Until the next they had done it again, Kaevia had walked into the city with a newfound respect for the two women -- not that she had none before -- but when things are brought further into the Light, one can truly come to understand them and gaze upon them for what they were.
Nothing made her happier than poking fun at Tsurathiel but knowing the woman wouldn’t have taken it seriously or how Pyraelia assured her that her was not life threatening though Tsurathiel certainly scared Kaevia into worry with her antics.
Two cups of tea and three cupcakes in, Kaevia was already considering the little meet-and-greet to be a huge success. The two having came out of it with a liking for one another -- or so it seemed -- and perhaps at another time she thought they would do so again, maybe bring other ladies as well to join in.
Entering the city with a box in hand with the leftover goodies, she made her way to the Square. Sure, Kaevia always has room for one more cupcake and she was certain those who were still hard at work within the city during late night hours would not mind a tasty treat to break with.
Laughter rang out in the distance, chippered squeaks and squeals as all the laughter of the children came together in harmony. The sky had been tar-touched and rain poured from the skies above though in gentle pitter-patters; tapping almost as the drops kissed the land. Even against the ambiance of the rain and the thunder thousands of miles away, the twittering of the young ones pulled through the woods. It wasn’t often that the entire family came together and when they did, it was usually under strict ties of family matters or business proposals.
Boots came down in puddle that drove a bird from its feeding area, the hem of a soiled lace dress plunking down into the murky water of the puddle, “ No fair!” the gentle, young voice called out, “ I can’t see you!” She called out against the thicket of woods and rain,” Syhris?” She wandered but even through it all giggles left her, “ Zeeeeth!” She called once more and she hopped joyfully from puddle to puddle,” Tsura? – You guys run too fast!” the tiny voice called out once more in a tender whine.
Since she could remember, Kaevia had always been the shadow that could never catch up. Much younger and smaller than the others, her cousins and friend but she always tried to be a part of the games they often played with one another. This time? It had been a game of tag and the runt had been ‘it’.
She wandered the muck with her rain boots even though already inside she could feel the water sloshing around within. Humans called them galoshes with Kaevia though that had been too much of a funny word. They had been designed to keep your feet dry and warm while keeping the bad weather out – somewhere along the line she had failed.
“ Boo!” Zeth flew from the bushes at the young elf and a blood curdling scream left her but it wasn’t for the fact she had found herself arse deep in the mud behind her but it had gotten too dark, too quickly to see three feet in front of her.
“ Don’t DO that!” she whined and a tisk had left her once she found herself in the mud, white dress spattered, “ Look what you did Zeth. Mama is going to tan my hide.”
“ Well you had it ruined already yanno.”
Zeth was the son of Ijiro and some huntress lady but he was about Syhris’s age and the two were best friends, inseparable at times. If there was trouble you could bet both of them were found along with it.
A shivered whimper left Kaevia once again as she sought to stand, too busy inspecting the muck along her bottom and now in her boots that ultimately slipped in. She had been too occupied to notice much of Zeth, “ Where are the oth–” Whack! A shriek left her as she called out to Zeth. The mud plastered to her cheek and hair while Zeth stood beneath a tree to have his giggles, “ That’s not funny! I’m telling Ann’da if you don’t stop!”
“ Zeth” The voice came and Syhris made his way over a small curved root along the beaten path, “ Leave her be. I don’t want her whining to Uncle Alucieus about us. We’ll never hear the end of it, yeah? I don’t feel like spending hours at the dummies either for punishment.”
A devious lick came to Zeth’s lower lip as he pulled back another cupped hand full of the mud,” It’s raining, she’ll wash off! Besides, she fell long before the additions were added.” Tucking his tongue out to the side Zeth had swung back for another release though this time that happened to knock the little elf youngling back to her bottom when the mid clapped to her side and another cry left her, “ I’m TELLING ANN”DAAAA!” She screeched.
“ Oi, you little turds!” rang out Tsurathiel’s fury. While Kaevia cried in the puddle of goo and gunk, Zeth and Syhris had barely a moment to turn around and regard their eldest cousin ( by a couple of years give or take ) and Tsura’s fist had already came across Zeth’s jaw. For a young one, she had nearly enough punch packed to almost clip the boy’s head from his shoulders. Like a ton of bricks he flew back into the wet bushes and Syhris let out a guffaw, slapping his knee which came off as an unpleasant, wet strike.
The bushes shook and rustled as Zeth emerged while his hand clutched to his jaw – and what looked like a drunken haze – as he wobbled out from the brush and bush, “ You hit like a girl, Tsu!”
“ Aye! And keep talking like that and you’ll get another one.” She bobbed her head in his direction only for the two boys who lifted their hands in defeat, heads shaking and steps taken away from the eldest. Still crying in the cold muck-puddle was the littlest of them all and regardless of what had been beneath her, Tsurathiel walked in after her and helped her up, bare hands trying to work the mud from her cousin’s dress. Gentle sobs still came from Kaevia and the muffled voices of the two girls were lost among the rain to the two boys.
“ There. Look it will wash out, just not right now.”
“ No it won’t! It’s ruined!” there was a touch of dramatics in Kaevia’s voice and Tsurathiel eyed the little raven haired elf.
“ Buy a new one. It was ruined the moment we came out in the rain anyways. Come on, the rain is coming down hard and I seen lightening in the distance. Better get back or they’ll tan all our hides for being gone so long.”
Stride by careful stride the two girls pulled from the mud puddle together, hand in hand and took their time so their little galoshes didn’t get hauled into the suction of the muddy abyss.
