as someone who hasn't read the comics yet and is kind of intrigued with all the spoilers i've seen so far, i do wonder how would hob/daniel work? isn't daniel dream's son? i do know he replaces dream (rip) but how would hob go about loving someone who reminds him so much of dream through all the grief of having lost him in the first place? (this is not criticism, all dreamlings are valid! i'm just curious)

first of all i must clarify for you that daniel is NOT dream's son. the best comprehensive explanation of it is that dream of the endless kinda functions as a timelord in that when an aspect of him dies, another aspect takes his place. so like Morpheus is a singular personality that's existed and Daniel is too but they're both Dream of the Endless just like christopher eccelson's doctor who is the doctor and david tennant's doctor who is too.

so in this way, daniel has all of morpheus/dream's memories and is the same person but not. daniel is dream's ultimate attempt to divorce himself from his responsibilities and change but keep doing his function, so daniel is a softer more open morpheus with a hint of humanity in him that allows him a certain insight morpheus dream didn't necessarily have (see Having To Be Told That Throwing Your Girlfriend Into Hell Is Wrong Actually)

so in that way i think similar to rose tyler's dilemma with 9 > 10 we have a very interesting situation where you're loving the same person but they've changed in a fundamental way, but they still remember you and share those precious memories (another doctor whoish example is journey's end with 10 and 10^2)

so i think it would be a very complicated transition for hob of knowing that you've mourned this friend who you had a relationship with but at the same time they're still here in front of you. it's like mourning a past version of yourself that you know will never come back, but there's still the you of the present and future

so all those things compounded makes the concept of daniel/hob extremely compelling for me and honestly (in terms of comic timeline) much more plausible (also bc after reading The Dreaming I Refuse to accept any non neil gaiman daniel into my personal canon)

all this to say i think they would be a very tasty and tragic dynamic that turns into something new, open and exciting, much like Dream when he changes

BHAVNA, OMG, i LOVE your lesbyler art, it's the cutest thing ever! and i couldn't help but notice they're wearing matching necklaces, so i was wondering if you'd be okay with showing a closeup version and telling us about the inspiration behind it. i did try to zoom in but i couldn't see much except for the sword-like pendant + what seems to be a ring in each one? is this perhaps a lord of the rings reference? how long have they had it? i love the little details you always add, hope you have a nice day! <3

in one of the many possibilities where mike and will don’t end up together during s5, i imagine will would move away to start fresh and avoid hawkins for a while until he feels like he’s grown enough to not let this hurt him anymore.

lucas in the comic was telling will that he’s glad he decided to finally visit during the holidays (i imagine this is 1993?) it could be a byclair scenario or a byler second chances scenario, it’s upto the viewer 🫶🏽 i just wanted to draw a cute little comic about how will and lucas were each other’s first crushes hehe

about what secretmellowblog said, the same thing happened to me today! my friend sent me the most recent fanart you posted on twitter and i was like "wait a minute, i have this artist's notifs on tumblr!" then i showed them the one from hounds, of dream talking to the fates, and we were like "omg!!!!" your art is spreading happiness <3

i don't have a pet but i think you're great and if you haven't read it yet, i recommend the fic "who wants to live forever" by ranchdiip. it's really cute and funny! death and hob are besties, dreamling is a chaotic couple and they adopt a cat daughter in the epilogue. i was having a bad day yesterday and it gave me really nice dreams! i hope you feel better. we're all here for you ♡

i used to use gif brewery, but cql inspired me to finally make the effort and learn how to use vapoursynth and photoshop (hence the quality difference between my older posts in #my gifs and the ones in my #*vs&ps tag). honestly i should’ve switched over a lot sooner bc the extra effort’s so worth it for such prettier gifs and more creative control and options !! if you have any other questions i’d be happy to answer them, though i’m by no means an expert heh. ‘:D
