Anyway Time Travelers AU Toxicity ( and Hate by extension, who belongs to @/6agentgg9 ? I think ? I keep forgeting their username ). They are not going to appear very soon (if at all), but I still wanted to talk about them and their kinda role in the AU ( also if you don't know Toxicity is my OC, info about him are linked in my masterpost )

Aaaaand I will be putting this under the cut
So first of all they are both French in Nightmare's time period ( 17th century ), Hate is a noble and Toxicity is a bourgeois and a doctor
Hate is a noble but he isn't a "conventional" one, he doesn't go to banquets, doesn't go to balls, doesn't participate in receptions, doesn't host receptions either, ... you basically never see him unless it is an official event organized by the king where presence is obligatory
He really just prefers the intimacy and tranquility of his home and even has as little domestics as possible, just enough to help around but otherwise he likes it better when he's alone and peaceful
But even without going out, there comes a moment where he falls sick and needs a doctor, and since he ain't going out like that, he requests that one comes to his place to heal him
And Toxicity gets chosen ! Yey ! He's reputed to be quite good and doesn't live that far so he gets called and comes over to treat Hate as good as he can because Hate is a noble so it means he's important and shouldn't be neglected (not that he neglects his other patients, just that he needs to be even more careful with this one)
So anyway everything goes well, Toxicity goes home and Hate soon feels better
But, Toxicity gets called again some time later, Hate feels unwell and wants the doctor's opinion, so Toxicity goes, gives advice for him to feel better, and leaves once again, until he is called back some time later for something else, then again later, and later, and later, and later, ... until he just asks Hate "are you going to invite me for some tea before or after you run out of imaginary illnesses ?" And Hate is like "oh shit I've been caught" like dude you were never sleak to begin with
But yeah eventually Hate does invite him over for a casual tea ( do note that his domestics don't really know what to do because it's the first time there is someone over ?? For tea ???? What ????? ) and they start seeing each other outside of consultations
Now since homosexual mariage is still forbidden, they obviously can't marry, but what they can do is Hate can say he's offering him a place to study and pay for his office kinda in a patron way and Toxicity lives with him
Now the great question: what do they add to the story ? Well when Nightmare starts to kinda free himself from his mother's conditioning and starts being his sassy self instead, nobles are gonna come less to his place and his reputation will change, and Hate will hear about him, and a noble who tells other nobles to fuck off on a daily basis ? He wanna see that, so when a tea is organized with the few nobles still present and with which Dream and Nightmare kept a good relationship, Hate goes, meets Nightmare, and the two start chatting and instantly bond over shit talking about the nobility
The two become best friends quite rapidly and hey did Nightmare say he was sick ? Hate knows a very good doctor who could help ! Meet his totally not husband who can provide you with an official diagnosis (and by extent open the way to more soul and magic study) ! Dw the consultation is on the house :)
So yeah they will maybe have some relevance at the end of the story but I wanted to talk about them now because it is my AU and my OC and I shall be unstoppable
i keep seeing that anti-ttg post and its totally fine cuz i enjoy seeing actual valid reasons to dislike ttg but then so many people referring to 2k3 tt as “groundbreaking” and acting as if it was devoid of anything gross or sexist or whatever
like i hope everyone recognizes that slade literally stripping the clothes off raven to the point where shes barely covered was not just fucked up to watch but completely unnecessary and the writers/storyboarders didnt think it would get passed the censors, yet somehow everyone thought the visually implied sexual molestation of a teenage girl was AOK to show on tv? because its in a dark scene and its edgy??? but of course most of the comments on it are about how hot raven looks with long hair and no clothes, but, yknow, okay
also how often did starfires boobs have to jiggle? it was usually pretty subtle so its not an issue of kids seeing it more of an issue of why did the animators do this? for “realism”???? so stupid
and tho people dont wanna admit it, every single girl hero that was in more than one ep [sans pantha? i think?] had to be saved by a boy character [not once, but regularly]!!! starfire and raven got saved by robin on a regular basis, terra’s entire storyline concluded because beast boy reached out to her consistently, bumblebee was saved by cyborg the one?? out of three times she had a significant role in an episode and jinx was saved from continuing the evil life she clearly did not want [tho it was only clear in that episode hahaha no foreshadowing to it at all] by kid flash. and this isnt rare or something totally foreign in a kids show but yall actin like the first series didnt have its share of problems it just annoooooooys me. ttg can be pretty gross pretty often but there is literally no one denying that whereas tt had shitty moments that people just brush to the side with “but normally its so good”
its one of my favorite cartoons ever cuz it IS so good but it also has lots of shitty stuff in it [but not looking at sjw stuff it has pretty inconsistent writing and characterization and repeated plots...and i love “temptation of evil” plots but literally every season except 5 was about a good guy being seduced by evil like...yall can come up with other stuff maybe...]
