I know I haven't been posting or doing requests for a while. I just dont really feel the motivation because of all the trolls I've been getting. It's kind of dragging me away from the fandom because of how messed up some people can be.
I love all of you guys who have supported me for so long and I really appreciate you all building up my confidence to post- it means a lot
I'm thinking of deleting my account and making a new one under the same or similar name and instead of doing pure kindergarten I'll just post any art I've done in general. That should keep up my motivation as well as keep me away from some trolls.
I will post my old kindergarten art on there (not all the requests) so if anyone wants to go to my new account then please do.
I'll also leave some time for people to go and screenshot I guess?

So when I say heavily researched, this is what I mean.
I started with Conan's instagram post, which lead me to his stylist's instagram post about this costume, which lead me to the costume designer's post about this costume, which lead me to one of her assistant's posts about this costume. I then downloaded every photo and video mentioned above as well as several more from Conan's insta.
I created a spreadsheet in which I separated each element of the costume and broke down what I thought the piece was made out of and any other notes I had on it.
3. Since the costume designer thanked Mood fabrics, I was then able to track down the exact fabric used for the vest. (Not that I bought it, it was just interesting to know what fabric was used.)
I was also able to find the exact lace appliques used on the cape. But that has more to do with sourcing I think so let's move onto that.
Shockingly, I have a local lace store which I went to in search of appliques but none of the ones I found were quite right so, feeling like I'd somehow let the lace store down, I started scavenging the internet for lace appliques and was able to find the exact appliques used on the cape (though this supplier was out of the gold versions of these appliques so I went with ivory since I thought these were ivory to begin with.)
I went to a local bead store and then purchased the rest of the beads I needed from an online retailer.
I started looking at brooches on ebay and found some matches but they were expensive (around $25+ per brooch.) This then became an in person scavenger hunt around my city for gold toned vintage brooches. I was able to find a handful of them from a very strange store (which recently went viral on tiktok and was swarmed with teenagers--I also went around the time school got out, that was my fault) and a giant flea market.
All of the fabric I've used so far has come from my local fabric store which I have been to more times in these past couple weeks than I have all year. (I mean, I go to this store a lot. It's my favorite store. I actually had to ban myself from going to the store, that's how often I was going.) (I've been like five times in two weeks.)
I also have a friend at my local fabric store who has been helping me with picking out fabrics and discussing garment construction. Conan's top is most likely a silk chiffon (or poly chiffon) but my fabric store tries not to carry polyester, which left me with silk chiffon as my only option. There was a very dark red silk chiffon on clearance but the top is sheer and I don't know if I'll have time to make the vest so I need a top that is not sheer. So my friend and I discussed the pros and cons of rayon (drapey but not voluminous) and voile (slightly sheer, voluminous, but not the right color) and linen (voluminous, but expensive) and finally quilting cotton.
I try not to make things out of quilting cotton anymore but my friend had to remind me of a few things:
Quilting cotton would provide me with volume.
This cotton was the perfect color so I wouldn't have to dye it.
It's Halloween.
So I now have nearly all my fabric (save for the pants but I didn't buy that yet because idk if I'll have time to make them tbh, we'll see.) I would post an updated pic of all my fabrics but it's night time and the lighting in my house is so dim and warm and cozy that everything white will look yellow and everything red will look orange so we'll save that for another post.

Yes, that does say 25 cents. It's because it's full of just a bunch of trash.
I don't have any clever marketing text or wacky ad graphics. All I came here to say is the store in it's current form is coming to an end. We've still got some inventory left over so I thought why not do a big sale to get it into the hands of people who really want it.
The shop will be open from now until Monday at midnight (or until we run out of things to sell). Any leftover inventory will be sent to the tumblr employee store, so if there is anything you want from the shop, now is the time to get it. We won't be offering any of these products for sale to the public ever again.
