Edward was born on 22nd of April 1896 in Barrow, making him a Taurus. He grew up alongside his elder siblings, Alice and Joseph, under the care of their uncle, Cromwell. In his adolescence and teens he had a fiery attitude and tendency to get into fights. He had sticky fingers, pinching whatever he could whenever possible, due to the frustrations of living in poverty. He entered service in 1911, although due to his steaming issues and disagreeable behaviour, the Railway began looking for any excuse to dump him somewhere else. That opportunity came in 1915, when he was hired on a contract by the NWR and later employed permanently.
On Sodor, he changed drastically. Becoming the kind and understanding Edward we know and love. Initially he lived in a small flat in Knapford and began developing his passion for the arts. Having an outlet in the form of painting helped him improve his attitude further.
His tough upbringing took a huge toll on Edward, though. He developed OCPD (Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder) which fueled his anxiety regarding his performance at work, art pieces and interpersonal relations.
He has dated during his first years on Sodor, even proposing to his partner. Although the engagement was called off. In 1941 he began dating Gordon and moved into his house on the outskirts of Tidmouth, where they’ve been living since. Soon after he gained a degree in Fine Arts.
He doesn’t identify with any subculture, having a very wide variety of music genres and style choices he likes. Although in current time, influenced by Henry and Gordon, he’s been leaning into metal.
