Yesterday I tried to track down some of the engines in my Kerr Stuart post
Unfortunately, most of them are in remote areas that can't be viewed on Google Streetview, but I did manage to find 2 of the Skylarks
4389 - Current location: Alagoas, Brazil
1281 - Current location: Pernambuco, Brazil
(Sorry the last one is so blurry, it's the best view I could find of it)
Ttte Humanized Drabble
A sudden loud knock at the door jolted Albert out of sleep. The twins were quietly doing homework. He got up and went to answer the door. He opened the door, revealing Andreas and Atlas. Andreas smiled.
"Hey Albert!" She smiled, and Atlas gave him a wave. Albert frowned at them.
"Yes?" He asked curtly.
"Atlas and I were wondering, if we could take the twins out for ice cream..." Andreas began, and continued with a quiet: "It'd be the perfect opportunity to get some sleep."
Albert hesitated, glancing back at his boys. Andreas was right, of course. He had gotten so little sleep, since Irene had passed. What few minutes of sleep he could get had been plagued with nightmares- He nodded slightly, stepping aside so that Andreas and Atlas could enter. Tim noticed Andreas and, got up from the table, his brother following behind him excitedly.
"Auntie Andreas!" The twins hugged her, and she beamed at her nephews.
"Hey there you two!" She looked at Albert. "Your dad's letting Atlas and I take you out for ice cream!" The twins turned to look at their father, excitement in their eyes.
Atlas looked at his twin worriedly, silently twisting the wedding band on his finger. He knew, just by looking at his brother's tired, hazy eyes, that he was thinking of Irene. Albert nodded, looking exhausted, and staring past Andreas, his mind someplace else.
"... Alright." He said quietly. "You can take the twins." He knelt to look at his boys, and they hugged him, before letting go. Atlas took the twins and headed to the car, leaving Andreas with Albert. She gave him a sad smile.
"Just...get some sleep, alright?" She said, "It isn't good for you to not sleep."
Albert awoke in a cold sweat, gasping heavily. He glanced at the clock that hung on the wall. He had only been asleep for 40 minutes. He felt tired, and he found his thoughts drifting towards Irene. He sighed, his gaze traveling around the room. It had been several years since Irene had passed, and her presence still lingered in the house, in the form of the few things of hers that Albert hadn't- Albert wouldn't, put away. He wouldn't put the last remaining things of his wife away to collect dust forever. He couldn't.
He sighed again, and closed his eyes, waiting to succumb to sleep.
