A Little Extra Isabel
I've been a bit stuck for what to draw for the last month - life off Tumblr has been a little hectic (largely in a good way) and the fact my birthday is in two weeks have blanked my mind. But I was looking over some old posts and remembered that I was never fully happy with Isabel's design as I messed up her colouring. Plus, I drew her with Oliver, so I thought she deserved her own post.
Some little facts about Isabel:
Is married to Toad
She and Toad have a daughter together, Mirabel, but were unable to have more children.
Was assigned as the foster mother to Oliver. As this was common practice on the GWR, the fostering was successful (unlike the botched fostering of Thomas to Edward), and the two have a happy and healthy relationship.
Acts as a grandmotherly figure to Oliver's children with Douglas and as a great-aunt to Duck and Donald's children.
Isabel is the unofficial 'leader' of the Little Western coaches in the absence of an engine. When Duck's slip coaches arrived on the island, they automatically accepted her leadership without question.
Isabel, along with her husband, Toad, holds true to the traditional values of the Great Western branch line, although she will be the first to admit that these values are no longer held by her old railway. This has helped her cultivate a good relationship with Duck.
Outside of her branch line, Isabel has earned a lot of respect with her mild way of speaking and no-nonsense attitude and has become friends with Annie, Clarabel, and especially Henrietta.
