There’s a great weekly race series that’s been going on for decades at El Dorado Park in Long Beach. The last TT of the year was this past Tuesday and in honor of the TdF starting in Eddy’s home country I decided I’d try the Merckx category. The P,1,2 crit follows the TT and the early effort took its toll as I struggled to hold on during the early hot laps. Legs came around by the end to put in a good 30s dig and claim the top step usually reserved for one of the M2W riders. If you’re SoCal local, you owe it to yourself to check the races out.
