I'm getting into the Metroid series and I love Samus Aran and this is me talking about that with only the knowledge from zero mission at this point.

I can't believe I'm turning into this kind of person but I have never in my life seen people do a character dirty like they've done to Samus. I HAVE to play more metroid games now, I'm just finishing up zero mission and I think I love Samus Aran. I cannot (I can) believe her character has been reduced to "Whrow hot fit feminine female character" BRO.

She is! INCREDIBLY hot but she's hot because she's strong, confident, smart as fuck and she has a robot suit that she's incredibly good at using. Like, where are her other positive traits as a character other than "wow hot"? Her morals for doing what she thinks is right? Where are her negative characteristics like the fact she's doing all of this seemingly alone, her overconfidence, her untouched traumas?

Where are the interesting character studies of her being ALONE like truly alone in a lot of the things she's doing? She's in SPACE which is the loneliest place I can imagine being, she's CONSTANTLY being assaulted, she is ALONE, literally, and she is alone in her unique physiology, and she was orphaned. It has to be isolating! On top of that she is a woman in a species that has historically treated anyone not male as lesser. Which is honestly more interesting to me as a viewer and doesn't SEEM to be an issue for Samus considering her observed avoidance of people.

This is a character that is practically a god with how many modifications she's had to her biology in addition to her track record of completing missions others have failed. She is so, so incredible and I love her so so much. Never have I seen a character in media before that has given me this just, intense, lonely wonder about them.

There is like a short list of things she likes to do in her free time when she has free time and they're so incredibly human. This is all based on my current knowledge of the series but my god I have to know more about canon Samus.

So, for reference, I think apps like Pokemon Go and Pikmin Bloom are really good for people to get out and get active. They're good motivation to get outside, be active and make positive life improvements. Period, if you used or use the app even just for fun, who cares do whatever you like but you should know what you're doing.

I haven't used them in years now but you can use them thoughtfully. It's important to know no app is "safe", generally the rule of thumb is location data, pictures, personal information and the like are not a good thing to share freely period, especially to apps.

You can use Pokemon Go without taking pictures the last time I used it, you do have to keep your location on though and you have to have an internet connection. It's tracking your location so of course it tracks your route, places you visit, etc. You don't have to actually use the places the Pokestops are at like Starbucks and honestly I don't remember a time I actually ever did stop in real life and use the business that housed the stop.

You just need to be informed of the things you do and their consequences, good or bad.

It's like really sad when people's missing remains are found on the beach after they've been lost at sea. Just, period it's sad.

There's something so profound about the ocean killing people though, people going out to fish, to crab, to have fun, on accident, etc. You don't just go into the ocean casually. It's a journey almost every time or at least for most of the Oregon coast. I feel similarly about heavily forested areas as well although I am more familiar with those than the ocean.

Idk ocean deaths feel. Different. They're different right? The ocean scares me but I love it something fierce.
