"Sea Dog“

“Sea Dog” by Dayle Campbell Gaetz. UnCovered review by Margie Gerety, ACLS Egg Harbor Township Branch

This is a wonderful story about a boy who finds an almost drowned dog washed up on a beach after a storm. The boy has been going through a rough time in his life, and the dog brought something for him to focus on as he helped to nurse her back to health. The story takes a twist when a man claims the dog as his and tells the boy and his mother how he got the dog and how special he has been in his life.

The book has a very good message, and I recommend it, especially for dog lovers like me! It is a nice easy-to-read story for our early readers of chapter books and children in our area can relate to the sea, storms, and finding treasures on the beach. The reading level A/R is 2.7.

Tumblebooks help needed

My daughter’s board has finally started distance learning (using Google Classroom, so I’m very glad that she’s young enough that it’s not just technically, but actually optional). She’s supposed to read a couple of books on Tumblebooks, and I cannot figure out how to set it up so she can read them herself.
