I think it might have been done last year but I can’t remember who, so tell me if I'm overlapping someone else's plan this year. At the moment it would involve sending and receiving about 3 cards each, depending on numbers.

And yeah, I know it's only the beginning of November but I like Christmas okay. Also It will bring Call the Midwife back to us sooner!

Why is Shelagh being written off as some sort of secretary/receptionist/fetches everyone tea and cookies?

She’s a nurse, midwife and wife. It’s not like having her involve in a few episodes where she does something medically significant is going to throw off her character. Also why in 05x07, is she asking for another midwife when she could have delivered the baby herself? Maybe I’m being slightly delusional granted she had two women to look after in the home.
