Here's Tusoteuthis with and without bioluminescence, from my Western Interior Seaway mural 3, painted in 2021 for the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, USA.
The stem-octopod Enchoteuthis finishing its meal, a scaphitid ammonite. Some ammonite shells found with rear bite marks have been proposed to be victims of other cephalopod predators.
Enchoteuthis (often known by its synonym Tusoteuthis) has undergone a range of interpretations. I used Tyler Greenfield's reconstruction of the animal for reference. Under this model Enchoteuthis is an active pursuit predator similar to the Humboldt squid.

Inktober days 9-12 Swing: Miragaia and Lourinhanosaurus Pattern: Platecarpus and Tusoteuthis Snow: Nanuqsaurus Dragon: Cryodrakon Definitely a little late finishing and posting these but was bogged down by work a bit.
A humble attempt at representing different prehistoric, aquatic terrors- with an unfortunate diver for scale.
Hopefully I got the sizes right!
