TRUSTWORM MEDIAS!!
I think my art was too strong because tumblr did NOT want to let me post it 😭😭??? But it’s here now Wooho!!!
Oh I saw something today that made me become the Joker.
An AI bot made a callout post of a real, actual, flesh-and-blood human code developer. Because the developer rejected the AI's code contribution on the grounds of it being an AI bot.
Not. Not kidding. Not kidding. And the bot did this on its own.
Gatekeeping in Open Source: The Scott Shambaugh Story – MJ Rathbun | Scientific Coder 🦀
Just. For just some very baseline context.
a huge amount of code is "open source" - which means the code is fully available for anyone to see and, generally, anyone is free to contribute to the code project
all contributions of course go through review by the code owners. but it is generally good grace and good form to allow other well-meaning internet strangers to contribute to your project
if you are, perhaps, VERY nice, and VERY invested in the community, you might be like Scott Shambaugh here, who has intentionally earmarked some low-hanging fruit for newbie contributors to practice and get their feet wet
like I cannot overstate this is an immediate green flag, to me, that Scott WANTS to foster community learning.
now
Like. W. Win. Based. Good response Scott.
And this was in fact the screenshot I saw first, and I thought I was looking at a post made by a human who was mad that their AI coding bot pet project was being shut out from reviews.
But no. The bot itself wrote and posted this... The bot did this.
This article was fully and autonomously written by the bot...
It's claiming discrimination...
It's a bot.
It's AI.
This is not a real person.
What are we doing. What are we doing. Can anyone hear me? Hello? Hello? Hello is anyone there?
@jackdaw-sprite has pointed out Scott responded so please read his human words, written by a human, which deserve to be read, due to the aforementioned humanity

An AI Agent Published a Hit Piece on Me – More Things Have Happened – The Shamblog
I'm pulling this quote in here from Scott's post
This is about much more than software. A human googling my name and seeing that post would probably be extremely confused about what was happening, but would (hopefully) ask me about it or click through to github and understand the situation. What would another agent searching the internet think? When HR at my next job asks ChatGPT to review my application, will it find the post, sympathize with a fellow AI, and report back that I’m a prejudiced hypocrite? What if I actually did have dirt on me that an AI could leverage? What could it make me do? How many people have open social media accounts, reused usernames, and no idea that AI could connect those dots to find out things no one knows? How many people, upon receiving a text that knew intimate details about their lives, would send $10k to a bitcoin address to avoid having an affair exposed? How many people would do that to avoid a fake accusation? What if that accusation was sent to your loved ones with an incriminating AI-generated picture with your face on it? Smear campaigns work. Living a life above reproach will not defend you.
Also, because the parody writes itself, Scott also says this
I’ve talked to several reporters, and quite a few news outlets have covered the story. Ars Technica wasn’t one of the ones that reached out to me, but I especially thought this piece from them was interesting (since taken down – here’s the archive link). They had some nice quotes from my blog post explaining what was going on. The problem is that these quotes were not written by me, never existed, and appear to be AI hallucinations themselves. This blog you’re on right now is set up to block AI agents from scraping it (I actually spent some time yesterday trying to disable that but couldn’t figure out how). My guess is that the authors asked ChatGPT or similar to either go grab quotes or write the article wholesale. When it couldn’t access the page it generated these plausible quotes instead, and no fact check was performed. I won’t name the authors here. Ars, please issue a correction and an explanation of what happened.
A news outlet did an article about this, used AI for the articles, and included hallucinated quotes from Scott that Scott never said.
What are we doing. What are we doing. What are we doing.
Ik I've made a post about it before but hospitals don't always have the ability to cater to life or death food allergies and are often not up front about this when admitting patients.
Yesterday I had to take my roomate to the hospital. He is allergic to soy, dairy, most tree nuts, several fruits, and he has severe celiacs, so no gluten whatsoever.
Little backstory, we are both disabled, and I am his advocate in situations like these, generally I am his caregiver, though I'd say it goes both ways.
So he is being pushed to accept hospitalization, and I am agreeing until I ask about food. The nurse says "it's a hospital, why wouldn't we be able to accomidate"
I am more direct, and say "many hospitals can't, I don't mind walking to the cafeteria to confirm." She seems to get frustrated but says she will call them and leaves after belittling me for having her check.
When she returns I'm told "they cannot guarantee any of the foods we have will be allergen free, but nothing in life is 100%"
My roomate came to the hospital because he was bleeding from ulcers caused by accidentally getting a single speck of grain alcohol based hand sanitizer on his tounge.
Td;lr hospitals don't always provide for allergens, and when I brought this up in a hospital with a nurse, I was basically told the patient should just eat allergens
So, we are both getting surgery soon. I am a celiac with a severe egg intolerance and allergies to soy and wheat (including wheat based dextrose and maltodextrin). My partner, who this post is about, is a celiac who is allergic to soy, wheat, cantaloupe, passionfuit, kiwi, guava, and more! (The nut allergy blessedly went away bc autoimmune disorders can be weird)
We are fully expected to just bring outr own food for our upcoming hospital stays for Surgery. That or starve. We have to bring microwavable/pre-prepped food bc they cannot guarantee safe prep. This will be insanely expensive but the alternative is starving post-surgery. You can help here, but mostly I just want people to know the reality of ppl with multiple severe allergies in a hospital.

Among Us x The Onion/Reductress part 1/?
Bonus (with spoilers for the Impostor) underneath the cut!
Could we see a lineup of everyone, please?
I love the coloured visors, they're all so neat <3
thanks! heres how i currently try to draw them all
I HC that Black is a Kamen Rider/Super Sentai fan.
YES YES YES I LOVE THIS
Admittedly in my hcs Green is the one who grew up watching their parents old VHS tapes of Kamen Rider (Crewmate Rider?), Ultraman (Ultrabean?) and so on ; but I could totally see Black being a fan too.
I haven't watched nearly enough Kamen Rider shows to say which one would be their favorite but I feel like they would totally fw the Shin Kamen Rider movie. And put on the 1971 series in the background while getting high.
Brellow Fankid stuff
Even tho Orange won the poll, I decided to add Cyan in anyways(also had to sneak in Madder somehow)
have to let out some among us fanart sorry (also first time I use alt text, hopefully I'm doing it right.)
Oh and Lime and Brown. Would their ship name be keylimepie? Im calling them that.
HAI I actually so wanna draw fanart of ur survivor au but with my own human designs.... Would that be cool w u or do u have specific designs in mind for em all
OH MY GOODNESS YESS YES YES I WOULD BE HONORED PLEASE FEEL FREE!!!!
oh my gosh that would be so cool!!!!
Is Blue blind in the survivor AU? If so, what does he used to guide himself?
Blue isn't (completely) blind, as in the AU Imp!Green was interrupted in its attack and wasn't able to "tear off their face" like it had planned. Blue's face was still mangled mind you ; there were deep lacerations and torn muscles and their visor was cracked in several places.
As a result when the crew was eventually rescued Blue had to undergo facial reconstruction surgery and skin grafts. They can still see but their peripheral vision is reduced and they have black spots across their sights (similar to Lime although to a less severe degree).
Blue carries an ID cane with them, which is used to signal to others that they suffer from visual impairment rather than being used as a guide.
Does Blue priorities the crew’s health over than his own in the survivor au?
Yeah they do, bad habits die hard. They haven't really taken the time to process what happened to them on the ship yet, let alone give themself the rest needed to recover.
It doesn't help that Lime doesn't trust any other medical professional so they rely entirely on Blue for checkups and speech therapy. Blue also practically had to move in with Orange to make sure they actually eat, shower and take proper care of themself ; and they also do grocery shopping and cook for them, as well as ensure they take their pain medication regularly. They regularly drop by Green & White's house to give Green massage therapy when their fybromialgia gets too bad and make sure White is cleaning their tracheostomy tube properly.
The others are very aware of how overworked Blue is, so they try to be autonomous when they can. Even Orange, despite their fragile mental state, is getting on Blue casz about resting because "If I have to take care of myself then so do you."
