Sometimes I wonder how people can say things in the most obscure incomprehensible way possible and still expect strangers to understand them and then I remember stressing out over sentence structures while frantically trying to figure out which specific combination of words and gestures is most likely to get the point across with the smallest chance for a misunderstanding is not actually something most neurotypical people do

an unfortunate kid that cyan had ended up finding somewhere abandoned within the ore+ shipment they had been handling… :( sorry lil dude
they start off pretty scared, prone to crying constantly (though it seemed like they were always in tears honestly). after enough time with the crew they eventually gain enough confidence thanks to a lot of influences around them, adapting things like cyans optimism or reds determination and so on!!
the whole idea for cream was pretty inspired by bismuth, another polyskeld fankid oc belonging to @katiekatdragon27 (SORRY FOR THE TAG) !!! theyre really adorable and lovely go look at them heehooo

yeah. it kinda started out a lil awkward at first, people immediately pointing fingers to the two people that could have possibly produced this colour (yellow was exempt after finding cream was a bit too orange and yellow also wouldnt have had a kid with white. lets be real). thank you blue for stepping up and actually clearing that up <3
blue's pretty concerned– they're somewhat relieved, after the crew checked around and found there weren't any other beans lost within the crates of ore. this stress is mostly caused by a headcanon i have about how the crewmates work–
the gist of it is that multiple beans are usually born at once (kind of like peas in a pod). its usually rare to have one kid, so the crew could either assume that cream had been lost and separated from their siblings, or was born an only child.
after a bit of consulting, and some arguing with red and orange, they decide its probably a better move to not report this to mira, considering they might get some people (and probably the skeld and cream themself) in massive trouble, and lime was very adamant on their distrust in the foster care system. whether they actually believed what lime said is unrelated
brown was already expected to be a pretty reliable caretaker for cream, among others (cyan and blue, for instance), though green and lime were fairly unexpected. green less so than lime for. obvious reasons
these three end up being fairly reliable, due to (my personal headcanon) them having grown up with siblings that are decently younger than them, though lime does start off with a lot of suspicion around cream but ending up liking the kid (kids are weirdly brutally honest all the time). theyre still somewhat suspicious of them from time to time.
green's also got extra experience from a lot of younger cousins and young kids in the village!
on the contrary red is very unreliable with the kid. they're a really fun auncle! they just. get themself and cream into trouble often enough to have been banned from being alone with cream for extended periods of time
You mentioned a few times that the Skeld Crew tend to hang out out together afterwards the Skeld Incident. Where and how often? Do they tend to use it as like, group therapy or is it more of a checking in on everyone and just trying to have a good time? What kind of activities do they typically do?
It's mostly a relaxed and casual reunion (at least as casual as a "traumatized alien attack survivors" reunion can be), where everyone gets to catch up with each other over a nice meal. The group tries to meet up about once a week at Yellow & Brown's pizzeria, usually on tuesday evenings when there's less customers and the restaurant closes early.
Blue definitely uses the reunion as an occasion to check in on everyone ; making sure White is cleaning their tracheostomy tube regularly, asking Black about any phantom pains, bringing Cyan grade 2 braille learning ressources, checking how Brown and Yellow's scars are healing, giving Green gentle exercises to relax their joints and muscles, discussing helpful daily habits with Lime, seeing how Red and Purple are holding up... They've very recently managed to get Orange to come with them to one of the reunions too which was a huge victory for both of them.
Everyone else is just there to relax and have a good time. Occasionally they'll split into small groups as the evening goes on with some playing card games, others chatting and some playing with Brown's kids.
Some of the survivors also meet outside of their weekly pizzeria reunion on a smaller scale, usually one on one or in small groups. Purple visits Cyan (and by extension Black) often to chat and hang out. Lime spends at least a couple afternoons a week at Brown and Yellow's home and/or restaurant to fix or maintain appliances (and spend time at the kiddy table with Pecan & Straw ; they'll never admit how much they enjoy it). Red visits Green (and White) often just to see how Green is doing and help with any errands or occasional home repair. And Blue spends nearly all their free time with Orange to help them get back on their feet (while Orange tries to get them to rest).
i really really really love the idea of eridians hearing absolutely everything in a human body and being able to predict an episode of something, similarly to how medical alert service dogs can
How would the beanlets grow up in the canon storyline
Technically they wouldn't exist in canon, since it's specifically the Skeld incident (and surviving it) that pushed Brown to "stop being afraid and do what they want to before it's too late" (with becoming a parent being at the top of the list).
Buuut in the event Brown would have had them before going on the Skeld...
They would still be quite young and be staying at Brown's childhood home with Brown's parents and pibling while waiting for them to complete their job on the Skeld.
It's a sad fact, but they'd be too young to have any real memories of Brown. Raising them would fall on their grand-parents and grand-pibling. They'd have other kids to look up to and play with ; Brown had four younger siblings and three younger cousins and not all of them would have moved out or even become adults yet.
They would still have a chef to look up to as well: Tan, Brown's pibling, was a great pastry chef and baker back in their day and they'd love passing their skills down.
Despite everything the twins still get to grow up in a good home with a loving family.
Straw grows up to be a baker and opens their own shop in the same neighborhood they grew up in, offering simple but tasty baked goods with a focus on allergy & celiac friendly options.
Pecan becomes a decently popular radio host with their own morning show blending music requests, games, listener call-ins and the occasional food critic and restaurant recommendations.
