I drew myself as a mummy 🥺

Working on some tutenstein fics and wanted to draw a self insert. Realistically I'd actually be a bog mummy but the fact I have a scar where some later mummy's had there organs removed (and oddly king tut, which isn't as common in his time period) and the fact I've had some of my organs removed makes egyptian mummy's relatable. But all mummy's are cool.

Anyway, I always hated in shows and books when the mummy comes back to life and they're just a regular guy. (Or worse a traditionally attractive white guy ew)

They had there organs removed, they were covered in salt and spices and resin! They'd be sticky and smell properly really good actually, but they wouldn't look healthy imo. In alot of cultures who left mummies behind (sometimes accidently but still) mummies would be buried with weapons, toys, and if they had them canes, implying that they'd still need those things in a life after death.

I'm a big fan of undead as a metaphor for chronic illness, especially when mobility aids are involved. Like even though king tut needed a cane to walk his body was still seen as sacred and worth preserving, worth returning to and living in again. It helped me have a better relationship to my body and all of its flaws. My body is sacred and I should treat that way.

I'm too lazy to fully write anything for this AU/fic but if it has to live in my head rent free then you have to read it.

Tut: *showing zak how he hand feeds his stomach in the jar like a weird little pet* "I don't need to eat but it will growl all night if I don't feed it,"

Zak: *slightly disturbed but trying to be polite and open minded* "does it have a name?"

Tut: no????? Should it?

I think if he ate food normally it would just magically work, like blue tooth organs. But if he has to eat something he doesn't like the taste of this is more convenient. Especially since most foods taste wildly different ir wernt around when he was alive he does this alot.

If a dr examined him everything would be text book normal. But stagnant. His heart rate doesn't seem to increase with exercise. Drugs that are processed by the liver still work since his livers also in a jar. his lungs would react normally too. But bc his heart was stolen even magic can't fully replace it.

His little necklace will someone flutter its wings to mimic a heart racing or skipping a beat when he gets happy and excited though. But only when not directly observed by humans.

He needs to find his heart to properly enter the after life, but it's been 3-4000 years so that won't be a easy mystery to solve

I really think they should of had a crossover, where Cleopatra tried to go back in time but didn't go back far enough and ran into Tut.

also, Im tempted to draw Cleo in a Starfleet uniform someday.

Zak: "I yern for the urn" ⚱️

Tut: "THOSE are canopic jars and no you DON'T! There's no hot cheetos in the urn zak!"

(I keep thinking about how he kept his stomach in that jar and dropped food into it to feed it like some weird pet. Imagine Bluetooth hunger pains)

Thinking about my secret saturdays AUs again.

Zak Monday in the God tut and Zak au is more similar to a reflection, he doesn't have a solid form and lives in zaks mind. He talks to him in mirrors or when zak's alone at night and haunts him. He's also not a clone of zak even if he looks like him, it's more like a past life situation and his past life was ROUGH. He doesn't trust humans at all, and is a control freak but he isn't evil. Zak thought he was a demon or something for the longest time and even now can't fully accept that he was him once. Tut knows one of zak's other past lives as his best friend from before he died.

In the Bigfoot hunter au, Zak Monday IS a demon...well more like a zombie. Zak gets resurrected and comes back wrong. He tends to appear like a banshee whenever Zak is close to death.
