Usually I take a friend or relative to apointments or the ER. But I went alone last night bc I had brown urine and sudden sever leg pain that was climbing up my legs and getting worse and worse so I went to the ER af 3am. Alone.
Worse mistake of my life.
Tried to give me pain meds without getting a history or doing bloodwork. I refused the meds and tried to tell them that I already took my max safe dose of basically the same meds and they'd have interactions. They tried to gaslight me. Then told me to just drink water, that I had no concerning symptoms. Like not peeing for a whole day and then it being brown isn't concerning? Then pointed out how I hadn't drank water in the ER (all I could do was look at the giant red sign saying not to eat or drink anything and try not.to cry bc WDYM?? Also i cant walk) I had to force them to do bloodwork. They refused to show me the results but prescribed magnesium (or so they said) they also kept acting like the wheelchair was a alien peice of technology that they hated looking at. And kept saying stuff like "if you drove here you can walk" like no?? Driving and walking are very different processes.
When I got to the pharmacy they told me they only had the pain meds, no magnesium prescription. the pharmacy refused to fill the pain meds bc (you'll never guess) I was right, they'd have sever reactions with the meds im already on.
They could of killed me. When all I needed was electrolytes. And acted like I was gonna kill their family's when I asked them to make sure all my concerns and requests were charted properly.
