Anonymous
Anonymous are a worldwide group of cyber activists or 'hacktivists'. They are loosely associated with one another, defining themselves as "an internet gathering" with a "decentralized command structure" who "operates on ideas rather than directives". First appearing on imageboard and forum site 4chan, they rose to prominence following a series of hacks and Denial of Service attacks on government, corporate and religious-based websites throughout the 2000s. The symbol of the group in public has come to be a stylised Guy Fawkes mask, popularised by the graphic novel/film V for Vendetta. Initially established and run mainly for entertainment, Anonymous has since become much more heavily associated with hacktivism and messages of a political or religious nature. Debates on free speech v criminal activity surround their actions.
They have been known to publish personal and private details of people and groups, in particular religious organisations such as the Westboro Baptist Church in 2011, or paedophile rings, homophobes, terrorists or governments suspected of violence on their own people. They do this in order to highlight the misdeeds of those whose actions often go unpunished, and while this may seem morally right much of what Anonymous does remains illegal, and potentially quite harmful. Protests and anti-establishmentarianism are often viewed as triumphs of people-power, yet they also can often lead to violence and anarchy. Are hacktivists such as Anonymous dangerous, or merely clever freedom fighters?
Audio Editing & Sequencing: Tutorial 8 - 1m 20s Soundtrack
In this tutorial I used Logic Studio 9 to create a 1 minute 20 second soundtrack for my video. using my field recordings and the loops i had made in previous tutorials, i was able to put this piece of music together:

Tutorial 8: Audio Sequencing
I used Logic to sequence audio files. I used sounds that I recorded earlier in the module.
Already being an experienced Logic user I found this exercise straight forward. I used this tutorial as a base for the final project, arranging the found sounds into a beat.
I also created loops from the sounds using the 'Bounce Regions in Place' function and then sending the sounds to a different track. After making the loop the length of a bar using snap, i could then loop the file.
Above i have included a sound file of the finished piece...
Tutorial 8: Audio sequencing
Firstly, i created a new empty project in Logic with four audio tracks. I then imported several tracks into the 'bin,' as well as changing the snapping function to beats. This aided the ease of sequencing and looping the kick drum track as it snapped every beat of the drum to fall precisely. Using the scissor function i sliced each individual hit of the kick drum and duplicated them, then turning the loop function on in order to create a loop to build an arrangement around, naming the track 'kick drum.'
Creating a loop.
I then dragged other samples onto new tracks and repeated the slicing process, finding hits of each piece of audio that i liked and then duplicating them and fitting them to the snap of the beat in order to fit the beat of the kick drum. To trigger MIDI samples from the keyboard i highlighted all four areas of the audio regions and pressed CTRL-E, which brought up the 'convert regions to new sampler track' menu. I named the MIDI note 'kick drum loop' and changed the start of the 'trigger note range' to F.
Converting audio samples to MIDI notes.
Converting audio regions into MIDI notes allowed me to view the notes themselves on the piano scroll, enabling me to input, move, stretch or delete individual notes etc. For example displayed in the picture i inputted various different other notes into the synth section of the loop. Although i was relatively pleased with the loop, both myself and my tutor thought the loop could perhaps make use of other samples as well as being longer in duration.
Finished loop.
