         HIS CHEEKS heated up. “i just figured you’d ask... after all; that’s the thing most people would ask when they find someone hiding away from a party,” ethan explained, chewing on his bottom lip. “i’m sorry for assuming.” now he just felt embarrassed. ethan took another bite from the ice cream sandwich he was working on after he had given the other one to kai. “they’re really good,” he mumbled, tears stinging the back of his eyes as he remembered what he had seen not too long ago; slowly chewing on the cold treat and letting the ice cream melt in his mouth.

lara still knew him well enough to know he wasn't telling her everything, but it wasn't her job to pry anymore (even though she wanted to). so, she accepted his half-lie with a nod. taking a moment to let milo's words sink in, she could sense his hesitation. "thanks," she bit the corner of her lip, "it wasn't like i had much of a choice..." lara knew her words were bitter, but she had always imagined being happy with the man standing right before her, not someone else. "it all turned out alright," she admitted with a light shrug. "miles is a happy kid, that's all that really matters." being a mother was the only thing that kept her balanced. the happy party girl she once was, was now just a memory in her past.

      the reassurance was helpful, since he often worried that it wouldn’t be to her liking, if the color or shade was off in a way that was inexcusable. but the smile on her face and words of affirmation brings relief to his chest that’d been pulled unusually taut in anticipation. ❝ too much for you or too much for me? ❞ godric teased, pushing himself off the desk with short glass in hand. taking a sip, he let out a small hiss at the taste of liquor coating his tongue and soon enough arrived at her side. ❝ you’re not supposed to worry about how much i spend on you. it’s not as though i haven’t gifted you with something similar in the past. ❞

Catalina knew that she shouldn’t have been such a flirt at the holiday gala, but she couldn’t help herself at the sight of him. They had been flirting the whole night with looks, some suggestive comments and lingering touches. It was purely coincidental she happened to bump right into him while she tried to grab another glass of wine. Holding onto his shoulder to keep herself from tripping with a blush on her face from the embarrassment, ❝ I really didn’t mean to bump into you this time, I promise. ❞ It was then that she caught a glimspe of the mistletoe hanging above them.  ❝ Um... micah had been preparing himself for weeks for his best friend’s wedding; the tux was bough, the bachelor party had gone off without anyone getting married in vegas or bringing home a tiger, and he’d just hopped off his flight with time to spare before the arrival party. in his opinion, a whole week to do forced activities and spend a load of money on what was essentially a party seemed ridiculous, but his best friend was excited so micah would keep his opinions to himself. when he walked into the blessed air conditioning from the humid outside air, he caught sight of the maid of honor, or as he liked to think of her, one of the most infuriating people he’d ever had to interact with. “any sign of the happy couple yet?” he asked, more so to fill the awkward silence between them to actually inquire. @tvnkerbell​
