My fattest, hottest take about Exile fics is that if you don't include the moments where c!dream is pretending to be kind to c!Tommy then you're doing it wrong.

You gotta include the moments where c!dream actually is nice to him. Giving him heal potions, comforting him, etc. Bc that's what abusers do, they lovebomb and in this case c!dream being friendly is what keeps c!Tommy glued under his control.

The point you're making isn't that c!Tommy isn't relevant to the plot anymore, just that he and his story aren't a main focus of this part in it while other characters/plot points such as c!Dream and the conditions of Pandora are, and that should be recognized just as much as it has been with other arcs because they offer just as much - why is that such a hard concept for people to understand? 😭

LITERALLY like obviously c!tommy will always be a huge part of the dream smp story in general. in a lot of ways, the story revolves around him, for the whole year — the disks and exile and everything, that was all heavily c!tommy centric.

but including him so heavily in current discussions feels like including him in the egg arc 😭😭 the egg hurt c!tommy and the people he cared about (obv not as much as c!dream) and he is technically involved in the egg lore !! but bringing him up to be like “yeah 🤨 but the egg tried to kill c!tommy so it deserves to be destroyed 🤨” obviously feels weird because that is not a storyline that currently features c!tommy heavily.

the disk wars are over. this is the prison arc. this is c!dream’s story, c!sam’s story, c!q’s and c!techno’s stories. c!tommy is still of vital importance to the plot overall, but currently, at this moment in time, c!tommy is a minor character in the prison arc.

Honestly I have been told multiple times- even people who aren’t in the fandom, that I need to not watch the exile vods because it’s not a good time.

Sometimes exile things show up on my dash though. Fun fact! Today I learned C!Dream made C!Tommy commit blasphemy multiple times against Prime? (One of the rules of prime is to not give anyone your gear unless they’re family, and… yeah, Dream wasn’t)

Tommy headcanons

- demonic in appearance, partially immune to lava, prone to taking baths in it (but if he's in it for too long it can cause burns)

- his horns grew in during exile out of stress, but he's always had his tail

- is missing three teeth, two of them being replaced with gold teeth during his time living with technoblade, the other as a result from his death

- has big, red wings

- wears an open back shirt for his wings to fit through

- has a green bandana tied around his left wrist

- arthritis in his hands, wears bandages to reduce swelling and cushion movement (projecting)

- SBI braid, using his long ass side bangs on right side of his head, with trinkets braided into it. a crow (phil), a crown (techno), and a.. what is that? its broken, so you can't tell.

- white streak in his hair from being revived. it doesn't go away, even if he cuts it off. it always comes back.

- fatigue and pain became chronic after exile, even more so after being revived.

- left eye covered with an eye patch

- underneath it, the eye is a pale blue color, sclera red and irritated, a permanent black eye around it

- slowly losing his hearing due to the explosions from dream blowing up his stuff

- only learned BSL because tubbo was deaf in his right ear (losing it in his left) and he wanted to be able to talk to him

- figured out a way for michael to sign with his hooves, taught him how to say "dad". tubbo cried when he saw it

Literally one of the reasons I am such a Tommy/Wilbur/benchtrio ish follower of the lore

Like I don't really watch the stuff from newer people

Is because do you know how fucking unhealthy it is that they are so forcefully ignorent to exile

I just don't... Feel comfortable watching anything they do when they mention dream

Because he's objectively an awful abusive man

And people trying to say Tommy deserved it in any way is such a harmful idea to press onto the viewers that I just don't like that obvious information hanging over the whole story

Like cc! Wilbur has outright called c!dream abusive

I haven't seen anyone else do that

So how am I supposed to know they're playing a bad character on purpose

When it just comes off as them not doing the research into the story they're writing
