you cannot be pro kink and anti purity culture if you think that some fiction should be censored just because you don’t like it.

I agree actually, wanting fictional media to be censored just because you don't like it is wrong. However, my reasons for disliking proship ideology goes beyond me just "not liking it". I feel like Ive reiterated this point half a dozen times already but in short, I am against it because fiction, objectively, has an impact on reality, and when people completely disregard that fact in favor of doing whatever they want without critically analyzing themselves and the impact their words/drawings/stories might have on others, that leads to real world harm. It's not a one to one scale obviously, but there are countless real world examples of how fictional media has changed societal or individual beliefs and behaviors, and to forget that is dangerous. I feel like proship ideology comes from a very individualist view of the world, and what we should be doing is looking at how we impact the world and people around us. Whether you like it or not, the things you say and do don't exist in a vacuum, and if you care about others you should be taking the time to examine the messages you are spreading and the community you are cultivating. I think fictional media is an extremely nuanced subject and there should be space for taboo and controversial topics, but to say that any and all fiction is morally neutral or positive is ignorant.

Im honestly getting really tired of proshippers putting me into this weird caricature of some puritanical hypocrite and everytime it happens it just proves to me more and more that there's some kind of weird echo chamber they're all trapped in. Like no, Im not anti proship because I just "dont like it", my opinions are nuanced and come from research as well as my own real world experiences. That's the case for most anti proshippers, you guys just dont like to acknowledge that because if you did it would mean potentially having to recognize the harm your community inflicts.
