Whumplr Intro
Hello! I’m Rissa (or Wryssa because it’s more fun to spell it like that). I reside somewhere in the endless corn and soybean fields that is the Midwest USA, and I’m 24, use she/they pronouns, and am a recent college graduate (aka I’m Wandering Aimlessly as I try to figure out what to do with things and life). I’m not particularly good at starting conversations online, but I’m always happy to talk or answer asks just as long as I don’t have to force myself through the mortifying ordeal of initiating contact I’m fine.
I stumbled across whump prompts while looking for writing prompts earlier this year. I then found @fairybean101 and @ashintheairlikesnow‘s box boy/girl stories, fell down that gloriously written rabbit hole for a few months while I binge read their work and discovered others’ writings, and decided to try my own hand at building something in the Box Boy/WRU sandbox. My writing experience is ... rusty, and tended more towards roleplaying pre-existing characters in the past, so I can only hope this experiment goes well and if updates are sloooow it’s because I’m doubting myself sorry
I think my favorite aspect is the hurt/comfort aspect of the box boys, who are trained to turn to their owners for comfort even as their hurting them. But I also just enjoy the general psychological pandora’s box of potential. I don’t really have any hard limits in terms of topics I’ll write if the characters go in that direction, but I might reject prompts/suggestions if they’re too far out of my ability to write them authentically and responsibly (especially if I don’t have time to research). I’m also not opposed to supernatural elements; although, I don’t have anything like that planned at the moment.

So, I work at a bakery inside a grocery store, and people are always surprised to find out that I actually like my job and I like the people I work around, including the managers. Even my new boss is repeatedly surprised by how carefree everyone is, considering our store does really, really well.
The biggest trouble-maker at the store is one of the head managers. He loves to scare people (he'll sneak into the department and stand silently behind me until he decides it's time to scream my name, he and another manager even tried locking me in a freezer) but what he really loves to do is inconvenience other people in a way that isn't actually harmful. His favorite person to bully is the employee rep, and he considers his most successful prank to be the time he covered her entire office in aluminum foil. He literally covered everything, from individual sheets of paper and pens, to picture frames, her computer, her chair, her office door, everything. She said it took her three hours to clean it all up.
This is why I love my job.
