why do you support proshippers?

Why wouldn't we support those who believe in ship and let ship as well as encourage ship and fandom positivity? Why wouldn't we want people to feel safe here, for them to know that they won't experience stigma or harassment over their fictional tastes? Why shouldn't there be a space for people to feel free to express themselves creatively? More importantly, why do some people treat all of this like it's a bad thing?

In the most basic sense, yes. It means even if you don't like and/or agree with someone's ship, you just move on without harassing them. Antishippers often lie and say all proshippers ship incest or whatever their moral outrage of the week is. People often put "proshippers" on their DNI over a sense of moral superiority over ships. We take the opposite approach here. We don't want anyone who discriminates against proshippers here.

We (a system) typically say we aren't a part of shipcourse. Though we genuinely do not care what people ship as long as no one IRL is being hurt. If we don't enjoy it, we just keep looking for something we do.

People need to realise story morals do not equal irl morals.

Just because we read horror and murder stories doesn't mean we want to commit or condone murder irl. Same goes for other things.

To be honest, that's pretty much exactly what a proshipper does and what they believe. I totally understand not wanting to use the label, though; either because of the stigma, because you don't really involve yourself in fandom or any other personal reason. It's a valid response when existing in internet spaces that constantly lies about what being proship even means.

in all seriousness though: why are these people here if they don't like the content being posted? if these people are against cops, against ableism, against publicly shaming people for being different, against putting people on the fruitbird drama site, against religious indoctrinarion, against the censorship of progressive thinking, against the silencing of punk and alternative communities, against death threats and doxxing and suicide baiting, and consistently reinforcing that they vehemently against the scaremongering of rightwing talking points online, then why in the absolute fuck are they consistently echoing those same talking points and doing the exact same things they claim to be against? make it make sense. these people aren't progressive acab fuckthenazis lgbtqia icons pioneering for anti-authoritarian neurodiversity. they're blatant hypocrites and need to take a good hard look in the mirror to re-evaluate their life choices.

with all that being said... thank you for continuing to keep this space running mods. your commitment to silencing misinformation and providing support for trauma survivors and paraphiles to redirect their thoughts and feelings into a safer, fictional, harm reducing outlet is commendable and i salute you. by keeping this blog running, and doing so in a way that enforces risk reduction, healthier strategies and understanding, while avoiding the shunning of those who have difficult relationships to their identities and personal experiences with SA and domestic violence, you're keeping the fandom spaces safer both online and offline.

Thanks for the words of solidarity! I completely agree that anti-shippers are very hypocritical. So many of them calling themselves punk while echoing conservative, pro-establishment values (that also goes for anti-endos lmao. "Systempunk" is such a joke.)

I'm glad so many find this to be a safe fandom safe. While we primarily do requests for alterhumans, the fact that this has become a watering hole for fandom folks too is a happy side effect :] you are all very welcome here and we're happy to have all those who find comfort and solace in our requests.

Its really sad that antis have the mentality that by even just interacting with a blog-- that while run by many proshippers, also has many neutral people as well-- can get a target on your back for harassment. I wish you the best anon. Hope someday you arent in an environment where interacting with people who dont believe in harassment doesn't get you harassed.
