Mein Herz brennt
how right does it feel to be vesta's queen?
“The Queen as I should be. Do I get a throne?”
Welcome back Prayer Circle for Molly to come back (ndkjmsnmbdfjsdb re-upload bcs...i accidantly deleted the original post)
Magic is in the air (jddjdj i have great joy with doing simple gifs esp animating hair, but my gifs are always too big and it kills the quality on tumblr and twitter ejsjsj)
So this is the crappy animation I've worked on for most of the past 4 or so months as my diploma project and the main reason I haven't been able to post the usual amount of fanart and other fun stuff on here.
I know it is no way near the quality of what other people my age (or even younger) who made animations have posted around the internet. I mean, it didn't even end up how I wanted it to be. In fact, it's more like a trailer for an animation than an actual animation (this is a joke me and the other colleague who made an animation make about our projects) It should have been at least twice as long but due to lack of time and my chronic laziness I had to cut the original ending, which was supposed to be a giant storm of red horses charging towards the girl. The prof who helped me an enormous amount said I should really try to finish it the way I want to (now that I don't have a deadline anymore) and maybe even send it to a few short film/animation festivals or something. I might just do that, even though I do not know how to handle putting myself out there - it's a completely foreign concept to me and it gives me a bit of anxiety (mostly because I don't think I'm that good).
Other stuff: another prof was incredibly pleased with the fact that I left the fresher sketch-like lines in the second half of it. This is a thing that almost all the profs from school who saw my initial drawings and storyboard insisted I keep because they say A) my lines are hard to forget and B) to paraphrase one of them 'don't try to do the corporate-type animation, dare to be more artistic'.
Ah! Almost forgot: the title, RE:. I came up with it because, if it isn't obvious after you see it, it's supposed to be like a video game. If this was an actual video game, you'd restart in the same place every time you completed a level. I haven't seen Edge of Tomorrow but from what I hear the concept is similar to that movie's plot (except no pesky Tom Cruise in my thing). And then you'd have to figure out in what order you have to do each room from the glass house. That's why I gave the heroine that infinity tattoo, which glows when she's on the right track.
Sorry for rambling on. Please enjoy this little project of mine and don't be afraid to comment on it.
EDIT: oh glob I forgot to put a trigger warning for intense flashing lights (somewhere around the 0:40 mark).
