This is actually my first Tumblr post, so... yeah.
I've been thinking about Rhullo and The Wonderful 101 for way longer than I'd like to admit. I can't draw, so instead you get a bunch of headcanons and worldbuilding.
English isn't my first language, so I had to fight both Google Translate and my own brain to write this. Sorry if anything sounds weird.
Anyway... here's my completely normal amount of thoughts about a fictional alien civilization.
Okay, hear me out.
Based on the artwork shown during Operation 006-B, when Immorta talks about Vorkken's past, I noticed something kind of interesting.
Almost all of Vorkken's friends (including him there are seven of them) have blond hair. Five are blond and only two have white hair. This is pure speculation on my part since we don't really have any other evidence, so I have no idea if white hair is actually common on Rhullo or if it's just a coincidence (or even hair dye lol).
But then there's another piece of artwork showing Vorkken at the Rhullo palace, surrounded by several Rhulloians... and they're all blond too.
Maybe they're just his family, who knows. We can't really see the rest of the crowd, so it's impossible to tell.
Anyway, while looking at that artwork I noticed something else.
The architecture is gorgeous, but what really caught my attention were the plants.
Which immediately made me think... okay, if those plants are actually green, then Rhullo probably has chlorophyll (or at least something that works similarly). That's the pigment responsible for the green color in plants.
And that leads into my next headcanon.
I genuinely think Rhullo wasn't always a wandering comet.
I think it used to be a rogue planet.
My idea is that, a long time ago, Rhullo was actually pretty similar to Earth. Maybe it was slightly larger so it could better retain its atmosphere after losing its star. It would also explain how life evolved there in the first place, because otherwise it's hard for me to imagine an Earth-like biosphere developing on an object that never orbited a star. I know I'm talking about pink sci-fi aliens, but let me overthink this. 😭
I also like to imagine that before losing its star, Rhullo's government looked more like Earth's, you know more like different countries, different governments, maybe something closer to modern nation-states, instead of the empire we see during Vorkken's time.
Then everything changed once they realized their planet was drifting away from its star.
Imagine the collective panic. Losing your sun basically means the end of your civilization.
So my headcanon is that the Rhulloians united under a single empire because surviving as one centralized civilization gave them a better chance. The Ohgee family eventually became the imperial line that ruled Rhullo.
I also think their heavy militarization happened because traveling through interstellar space is incredibly dangerous.
They probably developed technology capable of heating the planet and providing artificial light to replace their lost sun.
(Also... otherwise their crops would be doomed.)
For resources, I imagine they avoided mining Rhullo itself as much as possible. Instead, they might have used Rhullo's gravity to capture small moons, asteroids, or even dwarf planets and mine those instead.
One last thing.
The Rhulloians refer to Rhullo as "she."
That makes me wonder if there was some sort of religious or spiritual belief surrounding the planet itself. Maybe they viewed Rhullo as a mother figure, kind of like how humans sometimes refer to Earth as "Mother Earth."
That's pure speculation, though.
Another little headcanon relates more specifically to Vorkken's era.
He mentions attending an Imperial Academy and also says he was born into "an imperial family."
To me, that suggests there may have been multiple imperial or noble houses on Rhullo rather than just one royal family. Maybe something closer to an aristocracy within the Empire.
Vorkken also mentions that his title doesn't have a direct equivalent in English, which makes me think Rhullan nobility had its own unique hierarchy.
It's also kind of interesting that we already see him sitting on the throne even though his parents were apparently still alive.

The benefit of owning Wonderful 101 on PC is that I can now take high quality screenshots of some of my favorite moments or quotes. I could maybe even use some of them as reaction images. XD
