Hey @staff , can you please not recommend me blogs with minors in them, especially ones who are unfortunately transphobic? I don't blame the child for being uninformed, but their personal trauma art is not something I want to have to process because your algorithm is doing the exact opposite. I have censored the user's name from the screenshot. We really need to do better about our queer youth learning the truth and that this separatism hurts everyone. Not to say that youth self harming because of peer pressures and misinformation aren't a plague of their own.
another fun terf thing I saw was the rule to always be spiteful, mistrustful and dismissive towards ""the males"" and they went like "trust me, I know from experience you'll never regret it", and the phrasing was to suggest "my suspicions always turn out to be true" but really... that's literally just what it's like to be hateful. OF COURSE you don't regret being an ass towards people you hate, regardless of context or outcome, because that hate is a reward in itself for you.
Ughhh I just read a TERF blog by accident and now I wanna barf. Everything that was even there was transphobic as fuck and I wanna scream
I‘m tired after all these transphobic comments, JKR etc -_-’ I wonder why they seem to hate us so much. We haven’t done anything except exist. :(
TW: TERF mention
I don't know and I don't care how many times I've said this, but I'll keep on saying it for eternity if needed: TERFs are not and never will be welcome on my blog or in my posts, period. I don't care your reasons. If you are a TERF, support TERFS, or associate with TERFS, don't follow me. You're never going to have anything worthwhile to say and I don't care for opinions that are solely based on treating your fellow human beings worse than animals. You may claim that you only want to "stop the dehumanization of women" but anyone with even a modicum, one iota of intelligence can see that for the facade it is. Let's examine that little argument for a moment as if it actually had an ounce of validity, shall we? Methinks we must, so here goes; the dehumanization of women is absolutely an issue that desperately needs to be addressed, on that much we agree, if nothing else. So what does that entail? For starters, how does one define "woman"? Well that's where TERFs and I differ. According to the Oxford English dictionary: it's defined as such; 1: An adult human female. Source: https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/woman. Well, TERFs would say: someone with a vagina or someone with a uterus or someone with xx chromosomes, etc. By which logic my mother, who had both cervical and breast cancer and as such had both a hysterectomy and a double mastectomy is not a woman. Therefore, the person who birthed me from a uterus, vagina, etc that she no longer has is what?, a man? Methinks not. This also doesn't account for birth defects, genetic mutations, and intersex women like myself. I have a uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, the works. Guess what? I also have 2 X chromosomes. I just happen to have an extra chromosome, making it XXy, which caused me to have a number of birth defects. But you claim to be protecting women, right? You would have me believe that you want to protect women from being stripped of their humanity and reduced to their parts while reducing me to nothing but the genitals you assume I have. Genitals which you have never and will never, ever see. You claim to want to stop women from being dehumanized and then dehumanize me, a woman by your own definition, in the same sentence because I don't meet your (biased) standards of beauty. All of which directly contradicts the purpose of all things feminist, right down to the very definition; in exemplar: The advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes [source: https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/feminism ]. Your so-called "radical feminism" is only radical in the same sense as radioactive cancer cells are radical and therefore toxic. You perpetuate the same exact principles as the patriarchy you claim to hate..Right down to reducing the women you claim to be fighting for down to their parts. I'm sure you get rather upset when the first, and often only, question other people ask you is what's down your pants. You don't like it when you get reduced to your parts, who does? Nobody, that's a fact. 1: Practice what you preach 2: Treat others how you want to be treated. These principles are surely not foreign to you: every culture and nearly every religion has those two concepts at their core. Lead by example. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. ... We need not wait to see what others do.” -Mahatma Gandhi
I feel so dumb asking this but what is a terf? Is it a wlw who doen't like trans people? That's the idea I get but I'm not sure. Also I want to say hi to the new mods! You guys seem so cool and interesting I can't wait to see more posts from you!
There are no dumb questions! I respect you more for asking than not asking! It is good to ask questions when you are unsure or do not know something! Terf stands for trans-exclusionary radical feminist. It means a person who is a radical feminist who does not view trans women as actual women and actively and violently tries to keep trans women out of their activism and supposed “safe” spaces for women.
