Okay so I was wanting A Bigby wolf x teen! Daughter reader. She’s around 16-18 years old. Bigby is her biological father and has been the only one raising her. Just want some fluff between the two. Bigby had taken Y/N in not that long ago.

She was on the streets,

Unable to afford glamor,

And he couldn’t help but help her.

Snow and him hunted for weeks,

But were unable to find a home for them.

As time waned, Bigby's fondness for the teen grew.

He couldn't stand her staying overnight in the offices.

So, he made her an offer.

When he offered that she could stay with him, her eyes widened,

Then beamed.

“Really?” She was practically breathless.

Bigby gave a faint smile and nodded.

“Yeah, why not?”

She wanted to hug him, but didn’t.

She worried that was a tad too far.

That evening, Bigby took her home,

Opening his apartment door and carrying their bag inside.

“I’ll show you where your room is.”

He brought her to the single bedroom that was once his own,

Freshly cleaned and organized,

Just for her.

He had been prepping.

He knew he was going to offer her a place to stay for a while.

He wanted to make sure it was as clean and comfortable as possible.

“You can lock the door too, whenever you need.” He assured.

He set the bag down on the bed,

Then wandered back to the doorframe.

He watched as she admired the room,

Eyes wide as she brushed her fingers against the bed.

He could only imagine how long it must have been since she had an actual bed to sleep in.

He smiled to himself,

Then quickly shook it away.

“I’ll leave you to make yourself comfortable.”

It wasn’t more than 10 minutes later that she emerged.

“I really like it in there,” she said meekly,

Clasping her hands in front of her nervously.

Bigby smiled softly.

“I’m glad.”

After all, he knew he didn’t have much to unpack.

He just assumed she would want some privacy.

Knowing that she wanted to spend time with him?

He couldn’t deny that it made his heart warm.

Later, Y/N woke up in the middle of the night.

She wandered to the kitchen, wanting some water,

And spotted Bigby sprawled on the couch.

An ashtray sat on the coffee table near him,

And his head was propped up with a folded blanket.

Her eyes widened.

He had given his room just for her to feel comfortable.

To feel safe.

She felt herself growing misty eyed,

But shook the thought out of her mind to fetch her water.

She would find a way to thank him.

Someday.

Every morning, Bigby woke up early,

Not wanting her to see that he was sleeping on the couch.

She always noticed him stretching his arms and back while in the kitchen.

Especially when he was making breakfast.

“Where do you sleep?” She finally asked one morning,

Watching as he attempted to loosen his sore muscles.

He turned around stiffly.

“Just in the other room.” His voice was gruff and hoarse.

He was in the process of finding another place to stay,

Or even finding a pull-out couch,

But it wasn’t that simple.

Y/N tilted her head.

She knew he was lying.

She was staying in the only room.

“By the way,” Bigby said, “we need to swing by the office together today.”

Y/N raised a brow. “Why?”

Bigby set down a plate of breakfast for the teen.

“Your adoption papers are ready.”

“My adop…”

• Bigby walks into Snow's office to an unfamiliar scent in the room. He then remembers that the new person who was chosen to help him around the office was going to start that evening.

• His eyes go wide at the sight of his new co-worker. A fable he hasn't seen before, but she somehow looks familiar.

• Snow introduces them, and as they shake hands, Bigby almost misses the way her heart rate picks up while he's entranced by how beautiful she is.

• She's later revealed to be none other than Puss in Boots herself. She used to be a thief, but no one really knew what she looked like as she was a professional and never left any leads or tracks behind.

• So it comes as a shock to Bigby, naturally. Her presence in the office she quite possibly stole from made him feel a little irritated, as he never was able to catch her, but the more they spend time and work together, it fades away.

• She's a little shy to his surprise, but that's okay. He doesn't like talking too much anyways. Her quietness helps out a bunch– it's as if he's alone, everything is mostly how they were.

• Except for the scent.

• Her scent is very kind to his sensitive nose, her perfume is pleasant rather than revolting and Bigby gets used to it pretty quickly.

• She wasn't his secretary, but his desk and files start to appear less messy after she visits his office to drop in some files throughout the day, which he appreciates, even though she respects his organised messiness.

• "You wanna get some coffee?" Also quickly becomes a nice habit between the two. He might not admit it, but he was glad to have someone other than Snow as his company.

• When he realises this, and thinks about how much he enjoys her shy little smiles and conversations that weren't tiring or work related, he comes to a full stop.

• He's absolutely screwed.

• Meanwhile, she's been walking around with burning cheeks and ears ever since they were introduced. She hadn't really seen him before, but she also never would've guessed he'd be a handsome, tired little wreck.

• It's attractive. To her anyway.

• He's tired– Almost never sleeps, a total workaholic (probably makes himself drown in it), and she couldn't even imagine the harassment he faced on a daily basis because of his reputation as The Big Bad Wolf– but it doesn't take her long to start to see through all the tough layers. He just needs some validation, she thinks... or just a hug.

• She feels like a schoolgirl, developing a little crush on him as she did. But she can't help it, not when he's being so... gentle, and careful. Caring, even.

• The more they work together, the safer she begins to feel around him.

• They both start to have solid ideas about what the other likes/dislikes, the silence starts to disappear over time, and they both grow more bold– Bigby more than her, anyways.

• It's still a little awkward on the outside: She's very shy and he's very introverted and neither of them like to talk too much. But between them? They have their own way of communicating.

• One day Bigby sees her cat form napping on his desk and almost loses it.

• An ordinary cat, but with the most beautiful eyes and fur, it's as if she was drawn by an artist.

• His heart warms at the sight and almost goes to caress her back, but her ears perk up and she goes back to her glamoured appearance.

• She apologises dozens of times, even when he says it's okay dozens of times back.

• "You spent the night here?" He doesn't care if she was glamoured or not (she wasn't like Toad after all).

• "I... Yes– But for good reason!" She starts explaining how she worked for a very late hour and fell asleep on the desk, and made herself comfortable while she was at it.

• "The door wasn't even locked." He's worried about how something could've happened to her.

• "I felt safe enough here."

• It's his desk. His office. He's confused, but not really. No one would dare enter his office because he's the Big Bad Wolf, right?

• "I– Well, you make me feel very... safe, Bigby." She cringes and braces herself for the worst.

• But the worst never comes.

• "Really?" Even he can tell that had nothing to do with his scary reputation. She nods and looks away shyly, and his heart leaps to his throat.

• He says her name so softly, a hundred thousand butterflies turn her stomach upside down. She looks into his eyes with a cute little smile and a fleeing gaze.

• Bigby slowly takes a small step forward and gently takes her hand in his big one, gives the top of it a soft caress and smiles warmly.

• She appreciates his gesture – keeping distance, giving her space to back off if she wanted to. But she doesn't.

• He brings her hand upwards very, very slowly, to his mouth and quietly asks: "May I?"

• She gasps quietly and senses his awkwardness, so she immediately smiles afterwards and nods. She can't quite believe how the tables turned the way they did when he places a soft, phantom of a kiss on her knuckles.

• It's so uncharacteristic and out of place, but she likes it very much, so she gives his hand a light squeeze with a big smile on her face.

• "I'm glad to hear that." He smiles back, referring to her feeling safe around him, and makes it clear that, after many many months, the feeling was indeed mutual.

Whenever the temperature began to drop, so did Y/N’s spirit.

They started so many days with a warm coffee,

Leaning against one of the window panes,

Watching the snowfall,

Wishing they would be able to see the sun again.

They sky was always a gray haze in the winter,

And they hated it.

“Y/N,” Bigby said,

His gruff voice breaking the morning air.

Y/N snapped out of their trance and turned to him.

They were walking to the office and Y/N was in another world,

Listening to their boots crunch against the snow.

“Hm?” They asked.

Bigby furrowed his brow. “Are you okay?”

Y/N blinked then forced a smile.

“Yeah! Just tired.” They assured.

Bigby didn’t believe them.

When they got to the office, Y/N barely did work.

They sipped on their coffee slowly,

Gaze blankly wandering over the paperwork on their desk.

By the time noon rolled around, they hadn’t finished anything.

They hadn’t /touched/ anything.

“Y/N,” Bigby asked,

Knocking on their door,

Jolting them to reality yet again.

The coffee in their hands had long since gone cold.

Bigby glanced at the mug, then back.

“You good?”

Y/N quickly nodded, taking a sip,

Wincing in displeasure,

And setting it down on their desk.

Bigby sighed, closing their door,

And gingerly wandered up to him.

“What’s going on, Y/N.”

It was a statement more than a question.

Y/N went to protest but Bigby continued.

“I know you. I care about you.”

He chuckled to himself.

“I know when you’re distracted or hurt.”

Watching the panic in their eyes grow, Bigby knelt down,

Placing a hand on their knee.

He caught Y/N’s surprised gaze.

“You can always talk to me, Y/N.”

Y/N frowned at him, feeling guilty,

Then looked at the floor.

“The winter is always so hard on me.”

Bigby didn’t flinch,

His hand still lingering on their knee,

Wanting to show supporting comfort.

“Why didn't you say so sooner?” He asked, heart aching.

He hated seeing them sad.

They were always his rock.

Seeing them break was rare and devastating.

“It’s stupid,” Y/N groaned. “There’s no good reason I should feel this way.”

Bigby frowned.

“That’s not true.”

Y/N sighed, rubbing at their eyes.

“I feel so unmotivated. It’s horrible.”

They slapped their hands into their lap.

“And when I don’t do my work, it’s hard on /you/ too.”

“Always worried about everyone but yourself,” Bigby noted,

Pushing himself to his feet,

And taking Y/N’s hand in his.

Y/N hummed surprise as they were pulled to their feet,

And Bigby tugged them out of their office.

Y/N stared up at him in awe.

“Because that’s all we can do right now,” he started,

Turning to smile their way,

In fact, some days, he rather liked it.

He could let his mind wander and roam,

And he could remain by his lonesome.

However, being alone all the time would start to get to him.

He longed for more connections in his life.

More friends, a partner, a family,

Someone or something he could trust.

And one night, as he worked, that was all he could think about.

He finished the mopping plainly,

Headphones on,

Mind elsewhere.

Y/N wandered through the front doors,

Hoping the business was still open,

But spotted Flycatcher instead.

He turned, startled at the sight of a stranger in at this hour,

Fell back,

And poof.

In a puff of smoke, there he was.

A frog.

It happened whenever he got intensely scared or shocked.

That, and him running out of Glamour.

Y/N paused, then smiled,

Chuckling to themselves.

“Sorry?” They said, more a question than a statement,

After giving a small wave, they left,

The door, jingling behind them.

Flycatcher sighed, croaking to himself,

Then hopped into one of the back rooms,

Waiting for it to wear off.

The next morning, no longer dejected,

Flycatcher rolled in at opening time,

And clocked in,

When he wandered back into the lobby, Y/N was there,

Waiting,

And smiling when they locked eyes.

His eyes widened.

Teasingly, Y/N lifted th3eir hands. “Don’t freak out,”

They chuckled and Flycatcher gave a nervous smile.

“I don’t want you turning again.”

“Trust me, I don’t want that either.”

Charmed by the redhead.

“I wanted to come by to apologize for scaring you last night,”

Flycatcher felt heat in his chest.

“Thank you,” he said with a chuckle.

Quickly, he cleared his throat and spoke again.

“U-Uh but you don’t need to apologize,” he finally fumbled out.

Y/N grinned.

“I’m glad it wasn’t too much of a bother.”

“Not at all,” he said,

Waving one of his hands casually.

With a nod, Y/N turned and started for the door.

“Until next time,” they said,

Then vanished.

Every now and then, Y/N would pop in.

To say hi and make small talk before leaving.

Eventually, they started coming in later and later,

Closer and closer to closing.

Finally, when they popped in one day, Flycatcher jumped,

Yelped,

And boom.

Again.

Y/N jumped.

“Yes! I did it!”

Flycatcher croaked.

“You were trying to?”

“I wanted to see it again,” Y/N said plainly,

Wandering forwards and picking the creature up.

Suddenly, Flycatcher felt flustered.

“I think it’s adorable,” Y/N said softly.

“Why?”

“Because now I get to talk to you about more than just the weather and you can’t go anywhere.”

Flycatcher smiled coyly,

Finally understanding.

If only Y/N knew he would’ve chatted with them regardless.

He loved their company.

He didn’t need to be forced.

He couldn’t help it; his initial reaction to stress was over-protection. “Hey, what happened?” He slid into the spot beside them, eyes heavy with worry, tenderly reaching out to touch them. Whenever they were upset, Bigby seldom said much. He listened, and held their hand, and offered them tissues and comfort. Bigby would cater to them for the rest of the night despite their protesting. He wanted to. He needed to. For them.

Woodsman: The Woodsman’s heart would stop. He would freeze, surveying the scene hesitantly, before starting toward his partner. “Hey,” he said. He slid into the seat beside them, eyes narrowing as he studied them. “What happened?” He sat still and quietly, listening to their story, nodding and humming as they spoke. When they were done, without a word, he left the room to prepare for the evening. Dinner, water, blankets, movies, whatever he could wrangle together around the apartment. “Let’s try and do something fun, alright?” He said, sliding into the spot beside them. He was terrible with expressing himself, but he hoped this was at least a start.

Jack: Jack would feel his heart clench as he spotted them in tears. “Hey hey hey, what’s going on?” He’d ask, clearly flustered. He would have no idea what to do and would scramble to try and do everything he could. “Do you need water? A blanket? What about something to eat?” Rushing around the house, he’d grab everything before they had a chance to say a word. Y/N had never seen him so panicked, and they had to admit, it was pretty charming.

Grendel: Grendel’s eyes would widen the moment he spotted them. He slapped the door shut and locked it, darting to their side. “What happened? Did someone do something?” He knelt in front of them, trying to get a better look at their face. He frowned, his chest aching seeing his partner so distraught. “What can I do for you? Tell me what you need.” He’d hold their hand, offering a faint squeeze and a tender smile, hoping he could provide them some kind of comfort. He couldn’t help but fuss over them. They were the most important person in his life.

Grendel glowered.

Dry.

It was one of those nights.

But after he’d downed it, all he could do was smile.

Take his seat.

Feel the warm buzz.
