ᯓᡣ𐭩 He's constantly afraid of hurting you. Even with the control he has over the forms he takes, he has many nightmares thinking about how his calloused hands could turn to claws at any moment
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Stands directly by your side whenever you're out together, he gives the most aggressive glare to anyone who comes too close, Mundie or not, he doesn't trust any of them
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Huddles very close to you in winter. Now that he can't grow a winter coat anymore, you have to basically swaddle him when he's home to get him to stop shivering
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Feels a little bit of pride whenever you're wearing something of his. It's usually a lot larger than you due to his greater stature, and he finds a posessive sense of comfort seeing you so undoubtedly represent yourself as his
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Nuzzles you a lot when you two are alone, usually just rubbing his cheek around your head, neck, and shoulders. While at first it seemed like a simple cute habit, it served a secondary purpose as scent marking you to other Fables so they could immediately know who you're with
ᯓᡣ𐭩 He starts thinking about marriage when you look at the different stages of his transformation and don't wilt away in fear. Unlike others, you see past the fur and claws, directly reaching the heart beneath
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Depending on how comfortable you are with the idea of kids, his natural instinct is to have as many pups as possible. Though he's also keen on adopting, as long as you end up with a big family together he's happy
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Loves sleeping curled around you, he almost always takes the big spoon position so he can wrap his arms around your midsection. He loves feeling like he's protecting you in such a vulnerable moment
he feels his mood souring as it picks up, biting at his cheeks with mocking affection. he pulls his coat closer together so he doesn’t feel as it reaches out, twisting around him and tugging his coat almost playfully. but bigby is in no mood to play and picks up his pace, clutching the plastic bag around his hand tighter. the sooner he’s home and out of the wind the better.
finally unlocking his door he lets out a soft, tired sigh. the only light illuminating his place is the tv and colin is napping on the floor in front of it with a half drunk beer by his side. he trudges over to the kitchenette to put the pack of beer in the bare fridge along with some small snacks.
“you’re home sooner than I thought”
he turns his head to look at you. “yeah well I didn’t want to be out in this weather”
arms slinking around his waist, he slightly leans against your chest, perpetually tense shoulders relaxing just a bit before he shuts the fridge door.
“thought you liked the cold,” you murmur against his shoulder
he scoffs “could do without the fucking wind”
“come on” you pull him towards the couch. “let’s get you warmed up.”
you nudge him slightly to get him to sit down first. making sure he’s comfy before you settle in his lap. his arms wrap around your middle and pulls you closer to his chest. he noses along your neck and deeply sighs. eyes closing when he feels your fingers card through his hair.
thinking about soft shoulder kisses at the crack of dawn trying to convice bigby to stay in bed and ignore the incessant ringing of the landline
like no baby, they can survive without you for one night
...
i know bigby's small ass apartment doesnt have a bed but for some reason i see you and bigby barely fitting in a twin and colin just resting on the pillows on the floor just watching ya'll be gross and loving with each other

you've noticed bigby has been itching his chin alot, he was probably getting uncomfortable on how long his messy stubble is. bigby has been incredibly busy these past few weeks so his hygiene was... a mess. so you took it upon yourself and decided to help him.
bigby comes home exhausted, immediately sitting on the couch to relax... he didn't even realise you were sitting next to him. "oh fuck—" he flinches slightly. "I didn't see you there, bub.."
a frown forms on your face. "bigby... you stink."
he raises a brow. "i am?" he sniffs himself.. good god that stench. "fuck—"

you forced bigby to take a bath, helping him wash his hair and his back, using your cherry blossom shampoo on him and your lovely soap so for once he'd smell nice. after that, you let bigby dry himself with a towel as you look for the razor.
"you're not going to shave all my stubble off, are you?" bigby chuckles, towel wrapped around his waist, his hair still soaking wet.
"oh, i will if you don't dry your hair and then get your ass on this chair." you threaten him.
he grumbles, drying his hair with a towel and sitting down on the chair infront of you. grabbing the cheap electric razor on the sink, turning it on. you gently hold bigby's chin, turning his head on an angle so you can start trimming his stubble. as you trim him, he looks at your face, admiring you.
your cheeks flushes as you feel his gaze. "don't stare..." you whisper, making him grin.
"and why shouldn't i?"
"it's distracting.."
finally, you were done. he checks himself on the mirror, satisfied at the results. "nice one, doll."
you smiled softly, putting the chair and the razor away. "thanks, bigby. I've also washed some of your clothes, they're probably dry by now so you can wear 'em."
he placed a hand at the back of your head, slowly pulling you closer to place a kiss on your forehead. "you're the best."

bigby decided to have a drink at holly's bar, the trip trap bar. he was extremely stressed. but then grendell's ass started bitching at bigby, ranting about how much of an asshole bigby is... but then... "and that bitch [name] looking right pass me, then ushering me out the fuckin' door. who do they think they are to fuckin' kick me out?!" grendell groans.
the unbothered bigby suddenly whips his head to glare at the man, quickly standing up and walking towards grendell. "i wouldn't call them that." he growls, his hazel eyes turning bright yellow, hinting his transformation. "it's happened before and it doesn't end well."
a fight begun, both grendell and bigby transforming, beating the hell out of each others. bigby was clawing at grendell's back, and grendell was trying to shake him off. eventually, grendell threw bigby across the room, the wolf crashing down at the tables and chairs at the corner. "fuckin' pause!" grendell yells, panting.
bigby growls, sitting up from the floor and glared at the monster infront of him. "what?"
"why the fuck do you smell like flowers and shits?!—"

After Midnight.
He looked up at the sky, a cigarette lit in his mouth as he searched for a single star in that sea of black. The city lights created a neon glow that prevented a single glimpse of none. It was something he missed from the old world, being able to look up and see the stars.
There were times when he’d look up trying to find one to catch and reminisce in the nostalgia that settled in his chest. He flicked the growing ash from his cigarette and exhaled the smoke, the embers hitting the ground.
Huff and puff’s. Everyone knew they were his favorite. He was constantly judged for the poor choice of brand but he didn’t care what the others thought, it was just enough to control his senses. He stood outside of the Pudding & Pie and took one last inhale of his cigarette before throwing it on the ground and stepping on it and pushed open the door to walk in.
Whisky and cigar smoke filled his senses as he walked through the small club. He adjusted his collar on his shirt ignoring the glares from the other fables that lingered on him as he made his way to the bar. The bartender wiped the spot before he sat leaving behind some moisture for him to feel under his arms as he rested them against the wood.
“Your strongest.” He said to the bartender who wasted no time to go make his drink. He was tired tonight, dark circles that hung underneath his eyes and sleep creeping into the inner corners as he tried to rub away the exhaustion from his face.
He turned around in the swivel bar stool, to take a quick glance around at everyone. Fables sat in the seats as their eyes watched the girls that roamed the floor. Bare skin and lace was what he mainly got glimpses of as some of the girls took the hands of popular story characters and led them to the back for private dances.
The men’s eyes followed them like moth to a flame trying to see if they could get lucky enough to bring one of them home.
The glass hit the bar top and he turned to see his drink. He put a bill on the table and grabbed his glass and began to drink.
It had been a long month for Bigby. Solving another case and trying to upkeep some sense of order amongst the fables but that wasn’t his reason for being at the Pudding and Pie tonight. He set his drink down as he let out a low sigh.
The neon lights that hung above his head flickered to the sound of the beat of the music and he couldn’t help but fight with himself for a moment if this was where he should be. He wasn’t one to go to clubs, bars sure for a drink but he preferred nights in always opting for something more private rather than public but for once he needed to be away from the confines of his apartment.
Not to mention but his friend Colin who would just be pestering him with more questions and demands that he just didn’t have the patience for right now.
He picked up his glass and took another sip when the sound of mic interference peaked his ears.
“Please give a round of applause for Raven!” The announcer said.
The music was a lot slower paced than what it was before and the lights around dimming making it harder to see past the shadows of people but a nice spot light filled the stage as the velvet red curtains pulled back. Bigby heard the crowd cheer and chant even some whistling as whoever this was Raven was stepped out onto the stage.
He turned in his seat as his eyes found their way to the stage. You walked out slowly, your hips moving along perfectly to the beat as your hands grasp onto the shimmering pole that stood on the stage.
Your hair was down and curled, cascading to almost the middle of your back as you twirled around the pole, bending over slightly to tease the men in the crowd. You moved perfectly to the music, in sync with every note as bills were thrown onto the stage and the men couldn’t help but shout and praise at you. You continued to dance, still not aware of the sheriff’s eyes that followed your every move.
He hadn’t noticed it but he leaned forward in his seat, his glass in one hand as he couldn’t help but be put in a trance as you continued to move with such grace on the stage. You were hypnotic to him, something he hardly ever experienced.
For the first time as he watched you, you provided the perfect distraction from his thoughts about Snow. The woman he desperately wanted, craving her love but she had set the record straight that her love for him was in no way romantic.
It was the whole reason he came here tonight. He was ashamed for it, considering he knew how shitty this job could be and how horrible their customers were to the women but his sorrows led him to the one place he knew he could forget about her.
The song ended and you gave a final wave as you walked back through the curtain and disappeared. The howling men stopped their praises and sat back in their seats and continued drinking and sharing whispers as they waited for the next dancer to come in the stage.
Bigby sat back taking a glance around when he saw you come from one of the doors. You walked with such confidence, you were almost untouchable as you mingled past the men.
You were stopped by a man who was waving money in your face when you looked and caught his eyes for a moment. He cocked his head to the side as he downed his drink quickly and you thanked the man quickly and made your way over to Bigby.
“Hello honey,” your voice was soft and sultry, sweet and dripped off your tongue like sugar.
You leaned closer to him, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder, “Care for a dance?”
“Y’know who I am?” He asked you trying to see if his title would frighten you or if jogging your memory would make you regret asking considering his reputation.
You smirked down at him as you shrugged your shoulders, “Who you are out there doesn’t matter in here. Discretion is our policy.”
He remembered those same words Vivian ushered that night but he pushed those thoughts to the back of his head. He stood up, allowing you to take his hand as you led him to the back. The two of you ignoring the stares from the other fables.
You led him to a private room and instructed him to sit down which he did. You pulled back the curtain and turned to look at him, hands on your hips.
“The only rule doll is no touching unless you plan to pay extra.” You said and he only nodded.
The music was the same slow pace as before as you made your way closer to him and began to sway your hips to the beat. He took this moment to drink you in. You wore a black lace bustier with a red trim at the top of the bra. A lacey black thong to match and a garter belt with red ribbons at the ends of the straps that connected to your black stockings.
You moved closer to him, turning around in front of him and he could feel his pants getting tighter as he tried to keep his composure.
You turned around smirking at him as you saw the effect you were having on him. His dark eyes brimming with desire and you took this opportunity to tease him some more by climbing into his lap. His breath hitched in his throat as you began to grind on him earning a groan that escaped from his throat.
Bigby didn’t know how much more he could take of this but he knew one thing for certain that he wanted to bring you home but he couldn’t.
You continued to dance, leaning closer to whisper in his ear. “Are you enjoying yourself Sheriff?” Your voice was laced with seduction, a technique you had grown to learn to use to be sure to get nice tips but even you were unsure if this was for the wage or simply because you knew the big bad wolf was enjoying this, and maybe you were too.
Bigby’s hands found their way to your hips. He knew the rules but he was one to break them quite often.
“Your gonna have to pay extra sheriff.” You whispered into his ear.
He didn’t give a fuck. You lifted yourself off of him, continuing to move to the beat as his hands began to roam all over you. His hands were large and rough, working hands for sure but there was something there was no denying that you didn’t enjoy having them on you.
His finger tips moved carefully along the lace of your outfit, even finding their way to the ribbons to pull on them.
You knew of the stories of him. Almost every fable hated him due to his past and sure. You had seen him in passing a few times but nothing he did ever made you think so ill of him. Every fable was guilty of doing something they weren’t proud of, even in the new world.
The song ended and you winded your hips one last time before standing back and staring at him. He looked completely undone, in need of more from you but he wouldn’t say that. Not now at least.
He reached in his pocket, pulling out the cash and standing on his feet and slipping the bills into your hand.
He said nothing more to you, choosing to slip past you and make his way out of the club but Bigby knew he would be back for another dance.
You’re a wolfwalker. Are you a fable? No. Just what more ancient werewolf stories were based off of, only when you’re asleep does your form take that of a wolf until you return to your sleeping body.
An average day of work, you’d say, rather boring actually, not many people coming in today. The only thing keeping you from not falling asleep was the magazine from the desk, nothing much in there either, though you did enjoy people watching. There was something up with this part of town, not in a creepy small town kind of way, no, no. The people here, besides every average Joe you come across, are different. The way they talk is off when they say certain things or how they act with one another. You’ve seen a few fights, a few tumbles, holes and more and seen them walk away fine.
This is also the only part of New York that has a sheriff that isn’t a policeman. Which is strange but you only ever see him when he comes in to buy his cigarettes, which is rare since he buys them in bulk, also weird but his health isn’t your concern.
Another strange thing was how some people talk to him, most will just brush him off or greet him before continuing on their way, but some will be actively rude to him. Not something you would think of doing when he’s their sheriff, but you’ve never said anything.
There was something strange about this part of town…but then again, you were probably just as strange. A wolfwalker in New York, a wolf in the city, typically that would be cause for concern but thanks to wildlife preservation near where you live just outside the city, so you were fine, you had the city and all the comforts of a human and the outdoors with all the comforts for a wolf. Though…unlike a certain someone who would sometimes be around when the sheriff was in the store, you didn’t think these guys were vampires. You weren’t that crazy. Immortals maybe, but in a different way.
Well…it actually really obvious when you think about it, they didn’t even try to hide things. Come on, Snow White. The sheriff’s name being Bigby Wolf, it’s pretty obvious. Not to mention the whole frog you see walking around sometimes. But who were you to judge? You had a secret too, and you didn’t really think about hiding it, not that anyone could catch you and link it to you. Hell, you were wearing a crest from your family that was closely linked to Wolfwalkers but only people who had that kind of obscure knowledge would know.
Then again, maybe you should be careful around these guys, since they are just a bunch of fairy tale characters all together in a single community so they just might have access to that obscure knowledge. Speak of the devil, there’s Sheriff Bigby.
“Hey sheriff, the usual?” You asked, looking up from the magazine you still held, though you were more zoned out than you were actually reading it.
“Hm, yeah. And this coffee pack, of course.” The tired, scruffy man replied with a small shrug, his eyes caught on the magazine to your hands before finally looking up to your eyes. “That’s an odd ring.”
“Oh, yeah, family heirloom.” You shrugged, trying to seem nonchalant about it as you took his items to ring up for him.
“And I’m guessing it's not a very interesting magazine. You were staring at one page when I walked in.” He commented, gesturing with his head, his hands in his pockets. He was really observant, maybe too observant for your own good.
“No. Slow day, got zoned out.” You said, placing his items, coffee and his favorite brand of cigarettes, into a bag for him. From the way you were around everyone so often and didn’t seem to kick up any fuss about seeing strange things, Bigby was sure you knew, and you didn’t know how you knew he knew. But you were sure.
“Hopefully you’ll have a similar day, Bigby.”
“One can only hope.” He sighed as he took the bag with a deep sigh, placing the money on the counter before walking out the door. He seemed more tired than usual, maybe something happened and he had to clean it up. As per usual.
It wasn’t until you fell asleep in your home did you see him again. You didn’t know why, you never usually venture into the city as a wolf, but something just told you to.
With one last look to your sleeping figure, you slipped out of your home, running down the path, panting as you made it to the sidewalks. Maybe it was the confirmation you wanted, to know what these guys were. Whatever the case, you were a wolf running around the city, knocking some people over and startling a few others but no one seemed bothered. Probably too used to seeing strange things happening to really care. Your nose led you to an alleyway, where a certain sheriff was, like you back at home, laying down. He was on the ground though and seemed a little rougher up and groaning slightly.
You tilted your gaze upwards to see where he fell from, a broken glass on the third story seemed to be your answer. You approached him slowly, sniffing at his face, being the usual bother as he started to come to, pushing your face away as he pulled himself up into a sitting position. He blinked, once, twice and then looked quickly over to you, eyes wide as he stared at you. Your ear flickered with a blink from you, taking a moment to see if he was okay. Your head tilted to the side as you looked him over, he seemed okay, though probably shocked from seeing a wolf in the city, leaning forward to sniff at him again.
“Hey there, pup. What are you doing this far into the city?” Bigby asked, groaning as he stood up, dusting himself off. He leaned forward, to look down at you, your gaze following him closely, his hand slowly coming to your head and rubbing your ears. His hand was so slow, almost scared that you would shy away from him, or get scared and run off, but seeing you stay and lean into his hand he had a different idea. “Say, why don’t you be my little helper for the night?”
Your response of course was a bark and your tail wagging which was shaking your whole body.
“Alright, alright, I get it, pup.” He chuckled, leading you out of the alleyway. “I just need to bring a perp in and then do…a lot of paperwork. If you’re alright with being in my company.”
If you could nod you would, but you could only wag your tail, walking close to him.
Bigby couldn’t explain it, but this random wolf in the city could not be a coincidence, sure, strange things happen all the time here, but this was different. He knows that smell, he’s so sure he’s smelled this wolf before, he just couldn’t place it. As he stalked down the sidewalk, looking for the guy he was searching for, his eyes always started back down to the wolf that stuck by his side without a second thought.
Maybe it was because he himself is a wolf that made this wolf feel so comfortable around him. Or maybe something else was going on, this familiar scent that came from the wolf…he knew it. But where?
His eyes drifted up again to see the guy he was chasing down, the other tweedle twin, whichever one it was. Bigby immediately sprang into a run, alerting the twin to start running to, and he could hear his new wolf friend following closely, probably even faster.
“Atta pup!” He called as the wolf overtook his speed and was right on the heels of the tweedle twin, causing a yelp of shock from the very round man.
“I didn’t know a dog needed a dog!” He yelled as he ran, trying to keep his attention split from running away and keeping his ankles away from the wolf.
The man skidded into an alleyway hoping for an easy escape only for the wolf to not stop its speed and leapt off the wall and onto him, tongue hanging out, having its best life, knocking the tweedle twin to the ground.
“Aw…thanks…pup… whhooo.” Bigby breathed heavily, catching his breath as he jogged over to the wolf. The wolf’s tail was wagging with their tongue hanging out of its mouth as they looked up at him, happy and proud.
“Didn’t know you had your own lap dog. Thought you were the lap dog.” The tweedle twin laughed at him, trying to get up from under the wolf accompanying the sheriff for the night.
“Actually, this here is a wolf. And probably not done growing, I think you got lucky.” Bigby said, grabbing the twin by his arms and heaving him up to start the twin’s walk of shame to the office. The wolf happily trotted after him.
Though Bigby never liked having attention on him, when he put the tweedle twin with his brother in a cell, he did find a sense of humor in the faces of the people waiting outside of Snow’s office. Seeing a wolf…following a wolf. Bigby opened up his office door for the wolf, watching it walk in before sitting down himself, sighing heavily as he pulled out his paperwork.
He doesn’t know how long he had been working on his paperwork, but it seemed to go by quicker with the wolf next to him, snoozing away. Sometimes the wolf would look up to him and set their face on his lap when he groaned or sighed at some of the requests and complaints. Which earned a little rub at the ear, but all things must come to an end.
Bigby was planning on letting the wolf stay with him but he didn’t want to pry the wolf away from the forest like he had been so many years ago. So when the time came to go home, he walked the wolf all the way down to the path to the forest. The wolf wagging its tail still, rubbing around in a circle happily, nuzzling his hand once more before bolting off. Bigby waved at the wolf off with a soft, gentle smile, before heading home, scratching at his neck.
The next day, very early in the morning, Bigby felt like eating something fast to get the rest of his work done before having to go out and patrol for any dangers or complaints. So he went down to the small shop he’d buy his coffee and cigarettes from when he smelled that familiar smell from that wolf last night. He followed the scent closely, maybe it was because he hadn’t smoked his cigarette yet so his senses were sharper now, and now he could see why that wolf smelled so familiar.
His nose led him right to the store, with the shopkeeper outside, opening the door. You. You turned, smiling warmly, knowingly and waved at him, just like how he did to the wolf, before walking into the store. A wide smile still on your face as you looked at him through the window, and in turn, a smile crept up on his face as well.
“Well, I guess I have a reason to start talking to them now.” He said to himself, following after you with a soft smile, finally…he wasn’t the only wolf.
