My foot is still killing me but I have meds and my scene partner, artistic director, and I worked together a bit to come up with some different moves to make the scenes (mostly the fight scene) work but not put undo pressure on my foot. I also got new shoes. Tonight’s rehearsal has gone well. Still here but I’m done with my part tonight. Just waiting notes and some blocking adjustments.

2. Who is your fave side / minor character you've made?

There is a short story I wrote that is no longer a short story that contains my favorite side character. It was for a student short story writing club. Former students of mine were nervous about it so I joined and wrote a short story. I have joined the club every year since despite no longer teaching there and have added onto my story each year. In the second year I added a young spy that is just so impish and sarcastic and I just adore writing him. When the MC’s story line gets too difficult for me, I switch over to him. This is the main character from my story.

9. Who is your most tormented OC?

Cadell from the IF Defiled Hearts.

3. In what ways are they good and bad for each other?

Felix is good for getting Lucas out of their shell and showing that people can genuinely care for them. Lucas is good for Felix because they are honest to a fault (and every time in the books when honest reactions are picked Felix is so taken aback in the sweetest of surprised ways).

Felix’s relationship with his mother and Lucas’ lack of one is a point of contention between them for sure. Lucas is glad Felix had that with his mother but doesn’t like the way Felix prods them toward a relationship with Rebecca.

7. Is there anything that could have kept them from ending up together?

For Lucas it would be a break in trust. They demand honesty in everything. They are slow to trust others with their heart or any piece of themselves and once that trust is broken it is nearly beyond repair. That being said, now that they’ve had a taste of what it’s like to be truly loved, they can’t, and wont, go back from that.

joyyyy, this has taken me embarrassingly long to write, oh my god. it’s also because i got into my own head about writing someone else’s OC but i hope you like my take on Milo and Mason’s relationship nonetheless! 😬

16. when one person’s face is scrunched up, and the other one kisses their lips/nose/forehead: Agent Mason x m!detective (Milo)

Milo almost spat the hot chocolate back into the cup. made with water. splendid. he must stop trusting other people with his favourite beverage. being the...non-confrontational person that he is, though, he might just suffer in silence.

Mason cannot take his eyes off the scene that unfolds. “water in this one too, huh?” he manages to get out amid his deep chuckles, “i really don’t think anyone makes it with just milk, sweetheart.” “well, Haley does!” Milo argues. “hot chocolate that is not made with milk is a pathetic excuse for hot chocolate and people really shouldn’t have played with perfection,” he continues, scrunching up his face even more.

Mason cannot help but chuckle even more deeply as he leans forward to place a quick kiss on Milo’s nose. “you’re so cute,” he says, eyes full of adoration, “you don’t have to drink this though; you know that right?” Milo’s retort dies out even before he can begin to say it as Mason places a peck on his lips. Milo can only groan as he leans towards Mason to kiss him deeply, hands abandoning the cup of hot chocolate to have his fingers run Mason’s hair instead.

moments later, when they have almost reluctantly separated from the kiss, Milo looks at a small smirk creep onto Mason’s face as he sits back. “y’know, this hot chocolate is really not that bad,” he muses. “maybe this human food i might tolerate,” he continues, his smirk growing wider, “especially when it’s made with water,” laughing deeply at Milo’s soured expression.

i know the detective could never get away with this but could u imagine if they pulled a ‘no horny’ on m and bonked them everytime they started acting up

you mean something like this?

i feel like if the detective did that to them m would kinda just malfunction for a second. because how does one react to being bonked in the face? i doubt m would be happy lol. it sounds really funny tho if the detective just out of nowhere pulled a stick out and just *BONK* on m’s head.

i cant really see my own m-mancer detective doing that but you got me thinking with this and now i cant stop imagining N picking up this method of horny-blocking and constantly carrying a retractable stick on them.

3. How does your detective personally feel about M’s pet name? And with it now being used unsarcastically in the Book 3 demo, has that changed?

For Dima it was unpleasant and difficult at first. Mostly because that's how Bobby used to, and still is, calling him. Though Dima tried to get over it, it still brings back painful memories. In time, when he sense that there is less and less sarcasm, he kinda accepted it. He is still not full at easy with it, but it's not so painful anymore.

14. What do you think drew your detective to M? And when exactly was the moment, where it was “yes, I like them” (If they’ve admitted that to themselves, of course) And if not, what’s stopping them at this point?

Let's be honest now, it was his appearance at first. Then the way he is treating his teammates. That fierce loyalty. Dima admires it. He feels safe and calm in Mason company. As for the exact moment he felt "okay, maybe I like him more than I think"? For Dima I guess it was just after the Falk people attack him and Bobby. When he called Mason to let him know what just happened. And Mason told him that he would be there in a moment. No questions asked. 

6 Which member of team does your detective go to if they need advice?

Dima would definitely go to Nate in, like 9/10 times. Maybe to Adam if he needed some advice on fighting or tactics.

Leila I think would went to Nate or Mason (funny I know) depending on the situation. If she needed an objective and painfully honest opinion, it would be Mason.

8 Does your detective view the team as a “found family” at this point, or are they still hesitant? And to either way, why?

Leila thinks of them as family. She was very distrustful at first, but once she found out all the facts, she quickly accepted them. I think it's because of her overprotective nature.

Dima like them all, but he is still a bit hesitant. He has a huge trust issues. He wish he could fully trust them but he is also afraid of getting hurt and being used again.

I’m gonna go with Aryan for the first two and then Jason for the second two.

M for Memory - What is their favorite memory together?

So far, Aryan x Nat’s would be strolling the carnival eating ice cream together and talking like they were just two normal people in love and there wasn’t a third lurking in the background of his mind.

So far, Aryan x Ava’s would be going to the bakery together and Ava opening up and actually sharing things with him.

For Aryan alone it would be the scene in book 4 where they both show up at his door and for one fleeting moment I could almost convince myself I won’t he could almost convince himself he wouldn’t be forced to choose between them.

T for Thoughtful - What little things do they do for each other?

Aryan x Nat- Aryan makes it a point to find book quotes (mostly from the movie version of the book but shhh don’t tell N that) and leaves them around the warehouse library or slipped under her door or occasionally when he wants to laugh, he will text her and await her fumbled response. Nat for her part, leaves the books that the movie quotes come from with little handwritten notes about her favorite lines or parts that remind her of him.

Aryan x Ava - At first it’s a joke and he gets her little model vintage cars or those stupid car calendars and promises to make his own calendar one day for her but she doesn’t throw them out and so he keeps on getting her a new calendar each year with some stupid joke written in it. Ava for her part does some of his paperwork for him (not all of it because he has to learn responsibility but sometimes especially when he is exhausted or been threw a particularly hard case and she leaves it for him to look over and modify).

🎶 MUSICAL NOTES — what type of music does your oc like? do they listen to music very often?

Jason tends to listen to classical, particularly ballets. He is also a big fan of opera (and yes, that is what he was poorly singing in the car when Mason flipped it off).

💯 HUNDRED POINTS SYMBOL - share three random facts about your oc that others may not know.

Jason is Irish on Rook’s side and Filipino on Rebecca’s side (almost all my OC are biracial).

Regarding his forearm tattoo, the next clock he ends up filling in (after he figures out Mason and he are together) is the time Mason walked into his office with the rest of UB in book one.

Prior to Mason, Jason definitely planned on getting married and having kids and not being his mother to them.

Your tags on the turning post! Aryan not wanting to spend an eternity with just one of them 😭 Do you think that whoever he chooses realises this? (Who do you think he'll choose? I think I saw you mention once you preferred A, but am not sure if that was for Aryan?)

I had been leaning toward A because I do personally prefer that route but I have been more inclined to N’s route for the messiness of it all hehe

For Aryan he’s still very much in love with both of them but would never date one until it’s clear (aka until I have to choose for the narrative) that they are the only one he loves. I do really picture him as being in a poly relationship and not having to choose between them but *sigh* alas.

I do think if he picked A, that A would recognize it and would accept his decision. I think if he picked N, N would be in denial about it and would be having the same sort of thoughts they have in the solo route about turning him unasked.

[Want to clarify that last bit since I’ve gotten flack for my opinion on it in the past. I am not saying N would turn a romanced detective unasked but the fact that the thought has crossed their mind, makes me personally wonder if they really would. It’s fun to imagine how messy that would be.]
