Ok, before anyone says anything; they do not actually have sex until he is 17 (the legal age of consent) and she is only 24.

Bella is 24 year old high school teacher, she teaches freshmen English and loves art. She's been abandoned by her mother, neglected by her father and has a refreshing sense of independence about her.

Edward Cullen is a 16 year old high school senior who has admired Bella from afar. Considering he skipped his freshman year of high school, they've never had occasion to talk.

They meet during Art After 5, a museum program on a Friday night. There she realizes there is more to the prodigy than his age as they spend the night in conversation.

This fic is so wonderful, it is not your typical teacher/student fic, Edward graduates about 3 chapters in and him and Bella don't start their relationship until after he does.

I love this fic for the way the author completely develops her characters, she takes them from this almost 1 dimensional state and adds so much depth and character to who they are.

The chapters are pretty short, but there are a lot of them. I recommend this to anyone who loves when they can feel the raw emotion between characters even though they're reading them off a screen.

And when you're finished with this, there is a completed EdwardPOV "Counterpoint" that helps clear up a few things that may be left unexplained.

I came up with this idea when I was making a list of fics to rec, I would make a note by a story that said " *anything by this author " as a note to make sure I included all their works. These authors write amazing stories, their fics are reviewed in the thousands and have been on many a "must read" list.

So, we at TwiFicRecs, are proud to present the Author Spotlight, in which we will choose our favorite authors, the people who penned our favorite fics and share it with you all. We've most likely rec'd their fics before but this is to showcase all of them.

Edward is a surgeon who recently lost a patient due to negligence. Jasper is Bella's therapist who has an unconventional treatment he's willing to try with Edward to pull him out of the downward spiral of depression. Dom/Sub, AH, AU. This is a dark fic.

This fic. Oh this fic. I am going to straight up warn you now; this fic is not for the faint of heart. It is a roller coaster ride into the dark world of pain and the culture of dom/sub/BDSM. This fic is seriously rated M for Mature; read if you dare - but don't say I didn't warn you.

That being said, this is one fic that I go back to every few months. It begins with the capture and subsequent enslaving of Jasper, FBI agent, as he tries to recover a missing teen. What happens next is something that I don't think anyone but the author could have predicted.

Then, cut to Edward and Bella; their lives rocked by an unrelated event and seeking the help of a psychologist to right their world again. As therapy progresses; Jasper's unconventional method begin to help Edward's depression but at what cost? And what is gained? 

Bella is almost a little insufferable, but she is written like her book character; self sacrificing without thinking about the consequences completely. But really, you can't fault her feelings once you've read through.

There is so much I could say about this fic, but I don't want to spoil it. But the authors write so beautifully, their language makes the story realistic and completely engaging. You don't feel like you're reading, it's like you're transported into that world with them.

Oh, sex - just lots and lots.

I promise you though, if you stick this out, through to the end - you will NOT be disappointed with what happens. And just remember, when you think you know what's about to happen - you don't.

Sorry I haven't been much help. My laptop crashed two days ago and so I'm using my iPod and the library computer to access Tumblr. Those are the ones I could think of from the top of my head.
