Digital drawing I drew inspired by the Twilight cover and the meadow scene in Midnight Sun. In particular, it’s supposed to be playing on the themes of duality, temptation and danger. I kept feeling intrigued by Alice’s vision of the meadow being the deciding point in how Edward and Bella’s lives would play out. I made the apple crystalline and diamond-like in shape to represent vampires’ strong stone-like nature and how their skin reflects in the sunlight. The snake is meant to be symbolic of the dangerous nature of vampires and how Edward views himself as this dangerous harmful creature. The flowers and the snake turning to blood are meant to represent the knot in Alice’s vision where Edward was very close to killing Bella. I had tried to incorporate meadow wildflowers initially but the colours and long meadow grass pieces I drew along with the flowers clashed too much with the rest of the design so I settled on my usual choice of white-gradienting-to-red flowers and vines.
