There's two Gay Wolves inside you

What your fav Linkship says about you.
Twilight x Wild
Wildlight is and always will be the gateway ship. Well, one of them. You're a fan of friends-to-lovers and mutual pining, and slow-burn doesn't scare you off. It's something about that infallible support and friendship-flavored love gradually warming and deepening into something more that makes you crave this pairing. And there's a special bonus in that their attachment styles are likely... similarly maladaptive. Twilight having lost his adventure partner and Wild having lost all of the champions means that the two of them are likely clinging on a little too hard, doesn't it.
Link x Dark Link (any era)
This, imo, is the other gateway ship. The heroic battle of man versus self--his weaknesses, his vices, his self-doubts--devolving into a heated physical altercation is irresistible to you. Bonus points if there's struggle, blood, and/or restraints involved. You can also appreciate the subtlety of there being no real 'winner' on such a horizontal battleground, because no matter who comes out on top, there is always the frustration and shame of giving in to it all that makes the struggle addictive to watch.
Wild x Sky
You are so, so good at reading between the lines. Although it doesn't look like it at first glance, there are so many similarities between the Chosen Hero and the Champion. There's that mutual fun-loving sense of adventure, the latent little-shit tendencies, the 'golden boy' persona, the dedication to knighthood that all make watching love blossom between this pair not just gratifying but also incredibly natural. Put under a microscope, this pairing might just be that soulmate AU you've been waiting for.
Warriors x Twilight
It's the classic city slicker versus country boy pairing, now with twice as many swords and seven times the emotional baggage! You adore the notion of 'opposites attract'. Where Warriors is polished and proper, Twilight is simple and earnest. Where Warriors is a strategist, Twilight is more about brute force. Whether they bring out the absolute best or the rock-bottom worst in one another, you are mashing these two together like dolls on the daily and demanding that they kiss--or worse.
Legend x Hyrule
You're a sucker for the whole 'grumpy guy and the one (1) sugar-coated sweetheart who can melt his facade' trope. But there's also the added thrill here that Rulie isn't quite so sweet beneath the surface, is he? He's got to be cunning and quick to survive in his cutthroat era, and skills like that are bound to be attractive to Legend. Even if it's just the initial cactus x cinnamon roll pairing that drew you in, the deeper you get into this ship the freakier things can become.
Twilight x Time
The ultimate star-crossed lovers ship. I tear up just thinking about them. You live for the drama and the tragedy of it all, the fact that one cannot exist without the other and yet they really should be keeping one another at arm's length. The vulnerability between these two runs so, so deep. Every steamy scene makes you want to rip your heart out because this cannot end well. There is no universe in which these two can have a reasonable, sane happy ending. Unless you're the one writing it yourself, right this very minute.
Legend x Ravio
It's a bit like the Link x Dark Link trope was shoved in a domestic setting and everyone hid the sharp objects on them. You live for Ravio's wheedling charms and Legend's begrudging tolerance that occasionally teeters on homicidal fantasies. It builds a harmless sort of conflict where it's still clear that beneath it all, these two care for one another very deeply. If one gets sick, the other is going to wait on them hand and foot. If one of them is injured, the other is going to turn downright scary violent fending off the villains. No matter how much they bicker, these two bunnies will always come back to the comfort of their domestic bliss again in the end, and you find that predictability incredibly gratifying and safe.
Four x Shadow
Another star-crossed pairing of a different flavor, at least these two have a shot at a happy ending. But it could really go either way, couldn't it? You like toying with both notions: that Four and Shadow can be together in the end, enjoying a semi-antagonistic relationship that is as much fun as it intimate; or that Shadow can never return, leaving Four nursing an endless heartbreak. Sometimes you'll read a fic from both camps in the same night. Regardless, there are so many fascinating angles to examine this pairing from that you could spend a lifetime dissecting them. The potential for monster spice here is just a happy bonus.
Someone's happy to see his Mentor! (colored)
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
The Goddesses wrenched Link's life from him in choosing him as their Hero of Time. He has resented them every day since, growing into a body that doesn't match his mind, furious with the world that has forgotten him. When it all finally comes crashing down, he wishes more than anything that he could be somewhere else. Ages later, a new Link is recovering from his own adventure, and the loss of someone he loved. At his side is a mysterious entity who has been with him his entire life—a shadow given form, an assumed hallucination turned best friend when the cloak of twilight proved he was real. The both of them are doing their best to adjust to a new life together when a relic from the past appears just outside Ordon, an unfamiliar face with an all-too-familiar presence. To try and maintain the proper timeline, the Hero of Twilight is determined to assist the past version of his spectral mentor get back home. The real question is whether or not the Hero of Time is ready to return to the life he hates... and why only he lacks a shadow under his feet when Twilight is the one with a shadow personified.
i have been imagining a twilight princess au where dark link is also there for a long, long time. more recently a twime narrative got added to the concept and i've been wanting to write it for a while. back in august i finished two chapters for this and i'm posting them now.
i don't know what the pace will be, i still have to continue reflections and wish you were here as well and i've been pretty focused on my oc fic, but i am very fond of this story and hope other people like it too.
art i may add to it at some point:
Brainstorming some stuff for the 🕐🐺 Linkshipping zine... If it's not obvious, this is Twilight Princess Link's narration, and Shade is OoT Link.
It takes a while for Link to work up the courage to ask, watching his mentor stare wistfully into the distance. It’s similar to the look Rusl bears after slow days at twilight, one that Link himself has begun to mirror to Uli’s mystification. He finds his voice eventually, having courage despite the thin line between that and arrogance. “What do you dream of, then?” Shade does not reply for a long moment. Link has learned to wait, to have patience, a skill born from being a ranch hand first and then tempered bloody in his attempt to rush his quest for the sake of glory. He lets the silence stretch out as Shade seems to think over answering the question. Finally, his mentor shifts, gaze moving over to a patch of trees ahead of them, growing green with spring. “Home.”
