Weekly Pose Challenge - Parivrtta Trikonasana (Revolved Triangle Pose)
Greetings, YoGeeks! It's time once again for the weekly pose challenge. This week, Buffy Summers demonstrates how to do Revolved Triangle Pose.
Start in Warrior II with right foot forward.
Straighten your right knee. If you tend to hyper-extend your joints, put a “micro-bend” in your knee, then reach forward slightly.
“Tick-tock” your right arm down and left arm high, engage your abs, and try not to collapse your upper body. You need a strong core to fight vampires like Buffy! if it’s comfortable in your neck, gaze up to your left hand – and you’re a Triangle – ding!
Now let’s twist it, because you never know how the vampires will come at you and you need to wield that stake in all directions. Bring your left hand down to your right...
...and bring right arm high. Whew, so twisty! Keep pressing the pinky-toe side of your left foot to the mat so that you have a steady foundation for slaying!
Using a block under your hand is a nice option and you’re getting the same benefits!
You might see variations of this pose with hand all the way to the floor – do what you feel and what works best for you. Nobody knows your body better than you do. To come out of this pose, unwind your twisty Triangle back to regular Triangle and try the other side. Once more, with feeling!
Namaste, YoGeeks!
