Do you have any tips for beginner twitch streamers?

hOO BOY this is my moment to ramble about twitch excellent.

1. Don’t worry about quality.This means like, don’t get hung up on having a top of the line microphone/webcam. Having the nicest tools available won’t make your stream any better than someone using a 7$ microphone off of amazon. (I use my webcam built into my computer for face cam and this microphone. and I’m pretty happy with that.)

2. N E T W O R KOn days you aren’t streaming (get to this point next), watch other streamers and talk to them. When you become regulars on their streams, they are more likely to be regulars on yours. And it’s way more fun when you make friends with other twitch streamers, just like simblr is more fun when you have friends. and whenever I go to my friends streams and they get so happy/excited i’m there it gives me warm fuzzies.

3. Don’t stream every day.This can work for some people. But especially when you are starting out, don’t try to. You’ll wear yourself out. I try to at least stream 3 days a week, and that is a lot of stream coaches (yes those exist) sweet spot, like that’s what they’d tell you to do. 

4. HAVE FUN. If you aren’t having fun with whatever you are streaming, it might not be a very entertaining stream to watch. 

and if you are so beginner you haven’t even streamed yet here’s my other piece of advice: just stream. do eet. send the link to a friend for them to watch it, or just stream to 0 people for a little bit to get comfortable with it. Hecc if you are streaming sims 4/sims 3 send it to me I’ll come watch. I have one twitch child (leahaleyparker, she calls me her twitch mum i luv her) I can take on another.

I’ll link to a youtube channel I’ve watched before of a stream coach who gives some good advice. Some of which I’ve adopted- ashnichrist

and last thing I’ll say is some streams will be better than others. I’ve streamed to nobody for two hours, and i’ve had a pOPPING chat and been raided by a party of 80 before. After the really amazing streams it will seem disappointing the next stream, but try to not let it get to you. It’ll be ok, 💜

May 6th, 2018 Official Launch Date

Due to family coming in to town next week and even more family the week after, I will not be able to start streaming until May 6th! However, I do have a schedule written out already, check it out below. Games I plan on starting with are Stardew Valley, Minecraft, and of course Sims 2. :) Yay!

Schedule: Mondays 4pm-8pm, Tuesdays & Wednesdays off, Thursdays 10am-8pm, Fridays 10am-2pm, Saturdays off, and Sundays 10am-8pm CDT.
