In emergency scenarios, can Val and/or Tin override the others control of there part of the body?

For example, if Val gets knocked out can Tin take temporary control of the legs. Or if Tin is about to do something incredibly . . . not so smart with there tail and Val isn't in the mood to deal with the ramifications.
