about sunderland – i know right? she was so good. from what i remember, she studied travelling & mentored penny40 for a while. and, yea, they probably can't bring the actress back – but gosh it would've been such an interesting dynamic to bring back (albeit with a different version of penny). and to have sunderland guide him in his new vocation as a prof perhaps??

I just want to know what happened to her. Is that too much to ask?

I mean, from what we saw of her during those two seasons she was there, she's probably the most competent teacher that Brakebills had, knowledgeable about a variety of subjects, enough to try literally everything when trying to sort Quentin into his discipline, and she hinted pretty strongly at a dark background, which should be a given for any badass or powerful magician at this point. Hell, she wrote her thesis on ghosts and knew enough to put the kibosh on the alien magic from Fillory that the Rivermaster smacked Penny with when he had his hands restored.

Also still really curious about that bondage device Marina and Josh from Timeline 23 found in her office, if we're being honest.

I would love to have seen her and a different Penny than she remembered working together, maybe with her offering advice from a more technical standpoint on Traveling, since she studied it enough to teach Penny a little.

I would love to have seen them bonding as coworkers, with her expressing her displeasure at Fogg's underhanded tactics to bind Penny to the school (dick move, Fogg! Have we learned nothing from the Library's tactics?) and possibly even offering him advice on how to, if not outright break the contract, maybe how to exploit its loopholes.

And I understand they either can't or won't bring the actress back, but would it be too much to ask for just a throwaway line about her retiring because she couldn't stand all the attacks and ward breaches or Fogg's drinking? Something? Anything!
