TXF 1x13 Beyond The Sea scu11y22 Rewatch Wow, I hadn't watched this episode in over 6 or 7 years and I can say it still stands on its own after all this time. I really enjoyed the story, the thrills, the plot and especially the acting. Brad Dourif should have gotten an Emmy for his role as Boggs. Thoroughly enjoyed him. Our beloved Dana. I think Mulder must have said her first name what, three times? It would have to last us for a few years to come as I'm not sure when the next time he says it? Maybe when he loses her?? Gillian Anderson was gorgeous in her scenes. She's a unusual beauty to start with, but I really thought she was stunning in her scenes. All the touches...shoulders and hands. It was a glorious MSR episode. Sooo many feels, in today's Shipping speak. lol. Profiler Mulder is always all kinds of sexy. lol Here are some of my favorite lines/scenes: KISS KILL "Mulder, do I hear Skepticism" The cheek caress. OMG, I've fallen over and I can't get up. lol Again, the acting...The actress who plays Scully's mom was so good..her devastation and pain at the spreading of her husband's ashes was palpable. (I believe that actress was married to one of the producers of the show) Bogg's distinctive nasal cadence of speech. Scully saying "I want to Believe". Wow!! Tore a piece off my New York Knicks T-shirt = BOOM I can't look at a coat hanger the same again. All along the watchtower. Hahaha Mulder calling Scully out on her lying on her police report. They can always count on each other to hold each other to higher standards. Scully saying "I love this job." Heartbreaking. And then Mulder's "You love your father" Awww. Sitting shoulder to shoulder Creepy cell phone calls. And hello, the size of the cell phones back then. Height difference YUM Love the FBI jackets BAMF- "son of a bitch" Scully Channeling young Dana Scully's vulnerability and wanting to talk to her father. The writing was excellent...Bogg's dialog about his walk to the gas chamber the first time..."Last time I went to deaths door" and "Their (his families) fear and horror was injected into me." Wow, so good. "You play it like you need to Scully" Scully- "What if there's another possibility?" This was a groundbreaking moment for Dana Scully. "You've come for some unfinished business" Great line from Bogg's. Mulder asking "Dana, why can't you believe?" And her "I'm afraid to believe." The shoulder touch and "he's my father" comment was the perfect ending. This is such a great episode all around for me.
