Carey Price's mom (Lynda) was the first woman chief of their tribe (the Ulkatcho First Nation in British Columbia.) She was elected chief the same year Carey was drafted by the Habs. When Carey won all those NHL trophies in 2015 (the Vezina, the Hart Memorial, the William M Jennings and the Ted Lindsay Award) he ended his speech at the NHL awards by encouraging First Nations youth to be leaders in their communities, be proud of their heritage and to not be discouraged by the improbable. He said thank you in English and then "chunalya" (which is 'thank you' in the Carrier (Dakelh) language of the Ulkatcho.)

He's not the most demonstrative or talkative person, but he has always been a great advocate for indigenous peoples.

I am theorizing something with my musician & female! MC with a son, and MC doesn’t know who the father was. From what I could tell from the demo, that she is from a well off family (a socialite, I feel), and her mother especially seems to encourage that, bragging how her kitten is lovely and pleasant with music. Especially music helps draw in potential suitors when MC grows older, and it gives more prestige with a talented daughter. But it was supposed to be a hobby, not a passion. I think MC rebelled against her mom, maybe she snuck out to play music in clubs. Musician! Mc seems naive and starry eyes, and full passion for music and it’s art, I think you wrote that MC met her son’s father there, maybe a passing patron (If Flynn is the father, maybe MC doesn’t remember much about him because it happened so suddenly and she had gone with the flow, and was reckless) who only came once, and with a drink or two, one way led to another…. I think when MC was discovered pregnant, she was kicked for such disgrace, having a child out of wedlock and the father is unknown. I feel there is a tension between Musician!MC and her mother, and there is up with that. I think the mother put MC in a pedestal and when MC did not fit her image… yep. I think that’s why MC could and would not ask her own family when her son got sick.
