“Y-you alright?” Nervous asked him when he greeted him at the door.

“I’m fine, just…” Pascal sighed. “Work stuff.” He tried to give Nervous a reassuring smile. “I’ll be fine. It’s just been a long week.”

Nervous’ thin lips twitched into a smile. “Okay.” He stooped to peck him on the lips and in that moment, Pascal hoped that the unease he was feeling would completely dissipate.

But it lingered. It lingered throughout dinner. It lingered when he was cleaning up. It lingered when Nervous volunteered to put Tycho to bed.

“Al-alright, String Bean,” he said, taking the squirming three-year old into his lanky arms. “Bedtime.”

Tycho squealed and wiggled in his grasp, her dark eyes shining in delight. It was all for show, of course—she absolutely adored Nervous. It was probably because he was scraping seven feet tall and she was barely reaching three, making him the most magical person in the world to her. Even better, she loved his mohawk and his gauges and his chipped nail polish—seeing how much she adored Nervous made Pascal’s heart ache. He wished he could focus on that and not the seemingly unending sense of dread that was currently washing over him.

Pascal’s phone buzzed in his pocket once the other two were out of the kitchen. His stomach flipped when he read the text.

Pascal had seen what the Mother could do, especially when She was pissed. He still remembered the night that She nearly killed one of his co-workers. She had grabbed him and swung him around like he was nothing before She was forced to drop him. The poor man had several internal injuries and had been on leave for weeks. He had been lucky the momentum hadn’t snapped his neck. And that was with a lab full of people and the military on-site. Erwin’s small band was going in on their own, armed but still out-gunned by the alien they were facing. If the Mother got a hold of Erwin…

Pascal sighed as he shoved his phone in his pocket. “Dammit…”

Weirdly too many people want to interact with Tycho... He's just popular among straight/bisexual girls and gays.

Some of his lovers were sent to college too, into the same house. Townies and downtownies specifically. At this moment I just had to get acr mod, bcz it'd be not very fun if he flirts with someone in front of another lover and they get angry at him...

Malcolm has to pay for access to his own club now, after he sold this place for cheap to Tycho Curious who happened to be more skilled than him.
